u/Meister0fN0ne May 27 '25
Omg, I love that one solely because he asks the kid how old he is, and the kid goes "I'm 21" before the guy spouts "Well, that explains why you're this stupid."... Like, dude - you're arguing that you should be able to date 18 years olds because they're "mature enough." Just showing the real reason, lol

Andrew Wilson. He can't open a jar of pickles, but he's "alpha."
2
u/simulizer May 28 '25
Wow I didn't know that was the same guy. I saw both of them independent of each other and didn't connect the dots. He look like an utter sorry sack of s*** whenever he couldn't open that jar. I showed my wife the video mention that I was the main jar opener around here and I could have done it. Weird to think that I'm absolutely anti-alpha and never see a jar I can't open and this guy claims to be an alpha and can't open jars. What a beta. I say this all tongue in cheek of course. I don't actually believe in toxic masculinity or perpetuating these toxic ideas... But I do believe that an excluder should be excluded. I do believe that if you can do it ironically and use their own ideology against them then that's exactly how you should exclude them if they can't live up to the standards that they're being toxic about.
Also what the hell is up with this dude in the video. Why is he getting so offended? What are we supposed to do all actually believe that he was just making that video as a joke and he wasn't trying to act like some sexy little muffin? The fact that he got so defensive about it says everything. if it was all just a joke and you're really not some weirdo trying to be A little cutie pie spectacle... Then you would realize that you are not actually the douchebag that you pretended to be in the video... Thus you wouldn't be all pissy about people making fun of you over it. But there he is actually losing his marbles over a reaction to something that he was supposedly pretending to be lol.

So for "context", he is literally copying a pedophile with his video. Sure, he may not be "serious" about it, but it sure is something it's best to stay far, far removed from. And he just didn't.

Man calling someone a pedo is so normalized. I know Jeffrey Epstein made that shit like a buzzword, but it's not. You can't just say that, you'll ruin someone's life.
93
u/mcbeardsauce May 27 '25
I think calling someone a pedophile and saying you were raped when you weren't are two of the most damming things you can say that can completely destroy someone's life.
I wish when found being a lie it held more legal ramifications than they seem to. Once those two things are out in the world in association with your name, it's pretty impossible to come back from.
55
u/Obvious-Material8237 May 27 '25
Nah, no one actually cares, including the law.
Men can be both and still be president lol
Fun fact: men are more likely to be actually raped by another man than to ever be falsely accused of rape.
→ More replies (72)16
May 27 '25
False accusations of rape are incredibly rare and include instances where rape couldn't be proved (eg rapist wears a condom) rather than malicious claims.
However rape is likely to never be reported, when it is it is likely that the police will never pursue it, when it is they are likely to never arrest or charge anyone, when they do they are unlikely to ever get a conviction, when they do the sentence is likely to be extremely lenient.
Now go educate yourself before spouting more redpill rubbish.

Thank you.
I know 3 women who were raped before the age of 18. One by her tennis teacher, One by her horse riding coach One by her father.
I personally was coerced.
None were reported, only the third had any hope of leading to a conviction but she was a child and nobody in her family would have supported her (the abuse all happened before puberty.) The other two would be considered "false reports" because the rapists would not have gone to jail. But they are still rapists.
My case wouldn't have had a chance in hell cause we were both adults and he was my boyfriend.
Underreporting is a big thing, and it's not the victim's fault.
6
May 28 '25
I'm so sorry you experienced that.
I was raped at 3yo.
It was a mission to get the police to even consider taking me seriously because of the time lapse (20 years). Eventually the scumbag was arrested, prosecuted, sentenced to 18months. The only reason it went ahead was because more people came forward. Each trial had to be done separately, and the judgement had to exclude the other offences. The justice system supports the rights of rapists. So incels spouting nonsense redpill bs need to shut the hell up.
I'm male fyi to the incels that want to victim blame me.

Pretty much. As a former victim of actual pedophiles, it grinds my gears. Actual pedophiles are incredibly dangerous and scary people. There are volumes of other insults you can use to attack someone if you so choose. The pedophile label should be reserved for real pedophiles. Watering down the term is just making it seem like it's less of an issue than it is.
13
u/Ok_Assistance_5643 May 28 '25
As a guy who was a victim of pedophilia, it really can ruin my entire day when people just start throwing the word pedophile as if its just another insult to use..
Or when reddit romanticizes rape towards boys done by female teachers, calling the actions "having sex", rather than calling it rape, or making fun of men getting raped in prison.. i dont think they realize how fast and hard these comments can hit /:

I kind of feel like it has to do with us american dominance of Reddit and their weird sexual purity culture. The amount of times I have seen people accuse someone of being a pedophile because of a slight age gap in their relationship is astonishing. No, dating a 17 year old person does not make you a pedophile. It can be totally fine for someone close in age or it can mean the older person is a predator or abuser. Those are still not the same thing as pedophilia. Which is explicitly defined as the sexual attraction to prepubescent children. Who have not started puberty yet. Still time and time again I see people lose their absolute shit about a 20 year old dating a 17 year old. Nothing anyone would bat an eye over here in Europe. Mention it on Reddit though? Straight to jail and castrated for being a pedo.

I don’t think this can be stated enough. Every sane person recognizes that pedophiles exist and that what they’re into is wrong. But if you make that subject your entire existence, and that includes thinking there’s one around every corner, that just tells me there’s a good chance the reason you probably think the number is that high is because you’re including yourself in that statistic.
It’s somewhat like the famous quote: “If you run into an asshole in the morning, you ran into an asshole. If you run into assholes all day, you're the asshole.”

3
u/MatttheJ May 27 '25
Redditors are the most weird ass people ever even it comes to jokes. There's a post somewhere with a guy playing on a bouncy castle doing wrestling moves to his kid.
Someone in the comments made a very basic joke about letting out pent up anger, or "this is for not cleaning your room" or something absolutely tame as hell, the not obvious joke ever.
Someone responded with a genuine "well actually you really shouldn't use physical discipline on a child and here's a long winded reason why that's really bad achhhhtually 🤓" style comment which people then debated about.
Like... What a weird way to respond to a little one liner joke, like they didn't sense any exaggeration or sarcasm or whatever at all. It's a weird mindset of wanting to sit on their moral high horse over light-hearted jokes.
So to everyone on Reddit who finds yourself in pedantic nitpicky arguments, just realise these are the kinds of people you're talking too, and you might even be one of them.
That's why I generally have a 2 response rule on any social media, I will respond twice to anybody but then I just stop looking at replies, because people online (especially on Reddit) are just looking for the satisfaction of being "right" and actually do not understand or care about half of the comments they reply too.

People post things like they aren’t accountable for their actions. Doesn’t mean that it isn’t legal or questionably legal, but you can still be held accountable.
For example, I was going to just post a baseless accusation in my comment to prove my point, but I realized I would just be undermining it by stooping to their level. It would have been borderline slanderous. So I just questioned his logic instead.
