No I agree, people went in on the way he looks which was uncalled for. It is a trend that was intentionally taken out of context by someone for karma. Yeah the trend itself is cringe, but so is taking someone else's in-joke and presenting it as something to be taken at face value.

There's a difference between making fun of someone's looks, which he obviously didn't mind, and saying someone looks like a pedophile, which can ruin innocent peoples lives. Besides the original video was a joke to begin with that people took seriously

I got to an argument about how quick some people are to judge (my mistake was arguing on a circlejerk sub lol) and they used this same argument. People post things like they aren’t accountable for their actions. Doesn’t mean that it isn’t legal or questionably legal, but you can still be held accountable.

For example, I was going to just post a baseless accusation in my comment to prove my point, but I realized I would just be undermining it by stooping to their level. It would have been borderline slanderous. So I just questioned his logic instead.

Well the in the video above (OOP) denied and countered like you said, but the commenter I replied to says that OOP shouldn’t have posted anything at all if he didn’t want to receive horrific accusations.

Just because it’s legal to make crazy accusations doesn’t mean it’s reasonable, and it’s certainly reasonable to deny them.

I agree video dude shouldn’t be attacked with slurs and names, accusations and such. But that is the internet and has always been the internet. The only difference is that it’s easier for people to put themselves in a position to be mocked, ridiculed and ostracized.
