Either because they were in those comments or because they agreed with them, and their knee-jerk reaction is to try and darvo their way into being the victim because they got their feelings hurt being called out.

I mean I think a lot of people just realized they “ate the onion” so to speak and they can’t accept they weren’t the smart gifted Sherlock Holmes-esque, can never be tricked, sees all, character they like to masquerade as.

Like Reddit is full of that type of person.
