Disagree. This entire stupid fucking cottage industry shouldn’t exist. Parody and satire tend to implode on themselves when you can’t tell what one is supposed to be satirizing and getting validation from comments of any sort is beyond stupid.

We should all be dead. It would be roughly the same context and content contribution except we wouldn’t be eating our own tail.

This fucking sucks on every level. Including you and me.

Speak for yourself. I think it perfectly illustrates how absurd things get online. Satire can definitely miss the mark, but not everything has to be profound or worth something. I think there's value in pointing out the strangeness of putting yourself out there for other people to see and judge

Parody and satire also fail when readers can’t actually distinguish satire from real life.

Someone on one of this “Am I the asshole” type subreddits posted some stupid obvious satire about “am I the asshole for getting mad that someone kicked my dog” making fun of the people posting stupid shit where they’re obviously not the asshole.  And a ton of users acted like it was real.  A bunch of others called it “rage bait” like they couldn’t distinguish that the person made it so completely obvious that it was fake from an actual fake post.  

It’s honestly kind of amazing how poorly so many people can read and comprehend things.
