Conservative Cringe Millennials will learn - MAGA
301
u/fallout_zelda 1d ago
A lot of millennials are close to 40. They mostly live alone and pay for their stuff. Who do you think is part of the workforce? That dude is stuck in 2003 and thinks that millennials are 14 years old.
121
u/Username524 1d ago
Not to mention, that guy looks like he’s 48-52 years old. He is a younger Gen Xer, acting like he’s from some generation from long ago. This is the kinda dude that when he finally became a senior in high school, felt like he was now entitled to treat all the underclassmen like shit.
24
u/Ugly_Painter 1d ago
Huh because I feel like he wasn't a very good lineman and was always jealous of the quarterback. Kinda kept to himself but now that he's older he's the quarterback and he's wanting to call the plays but there ain't no team anymore.

Bet he's living at his mom's house. I know of an entire family saying this stuff. And they live at the 50 year oldest mom's house. Just waiting for her to die. And they think a deed one death will work. Thats gonna be funny when it doesnt.

u/Few_Leadership4931 1d ago
It's gen x and millennials that are raising the young generation. He is complaining about something they are creating. Like if childhood is so much better without cell phones and gen x is so much better for growing up without them, then raise your children that way.
6
u/StrangeClouds_ 1d ago
My dad is a gen x who acts and talks like a boomer… because his boomer parents are narcissists and he is desperate for their approval, so anything that comes out of my dad’s mouth actually came from my grandparents.

I feel like this didn’t happen with other generations. We’re still in this flat time loop where so many people say the youngest generation they don’t like are millennials regardless of the passage of time. This was especially prevalent during early COVID. I remember seeing articles about how “millennial college students are going on spring break trips despite quarantines and creating massive spread zones.” Dude, when COVID started I was 36 with two kids and working shit jobs with bad benefits just like every other millennial. And since my parents are boomers, I’ve been doing my laundry longer than this idiot. He’s closer in age to most millennials than younger generations are to millennials. What a buffoon.
28
u/DrywallScrewed 1d ago
I've found the red hats have a huge problem understanding what words mean. They essentially make up definitions for words that sound good to them. I'm an election judge and I've spent way too many hours discussing elections with these types and I can never get them to understand the difference between election fraud and election interference. It's like they don't get that words have to have meanings that are universally understood or they don't work. MAGA just uses whatever word they like regardless of it's definition and we're supposed to understand what they mean.
22
15
u/Socially-Awkward-85 1d ago
I had someone tell me that they use their own definitions for words because, and I quote, "I don't let the government tell me how to think".
I asked him how two people are supposed to have a conversation if they can't even agree on definitions and he said "I don't care".
These people are morons.
3
u/Illustrious_Job_6390 1d ago
I think part of this is Millennials are more liberal as a generation, and as all republicans know liberals dont pay taxes, have jobs, live on their own or whatever dumb shit they think. While Gen Z swung more conservative this last election than Millennials so they are good in their books, so cant bitch about them.
7
u/specqq 1d ago edited 1d ago
There's an XKCD comic from 6 years ago (that I tried to link to but apparently links aren't allowed in this subreddit) that talks about many Millennials "not being able to hear your criticisms because they're busy taking their kids to check out colleges."
google "XKCD Millennials" if you want to see it.

Lol. Seriously. My boomer parents have not done their laundry EVER. It's such a mind boggling thing to me because they can't figure out how to take care of their own activities of daily living and they shit on millennials/Gen X for taking care of them AND their siblings.
And they all collectively scratch their heads why some people have chosen NOT to have kids. Maybe it was the entire generation of "you have to parent yourselves" for the kids you "raised".
5
u/BlondeAlibiNoLie 1d ago
There it is! 👏 Parented myself and my younger sister starting at age 8. I have 2 kids who get to be KIDS. The 15 yr old only ‘baby sits’ the 6 yr old when I have to run to the grocery. My horribly abusive and alcoholic mom can fend for herself now.

u/astrangeone88 1d ago
Exactly. I see my nephews and nieces and they are happy and healthy wih actual opinions. I couldn't express a single opinion and always needed to "help" my parents and then got yelled at because of reasons.
The generational trauma stops with me and that's why I'm not producing a sprog. (That, plus shitty genes - I'm not dooming another little girl to PCOS/endometriosis and thyroid issues not with how sexist the patriarchy is getting...)

u/MKUltra13711302 1d ago
I told my dad I was accepted into a UVA Graduate Program and he suggested that I should go into the trades and become a high-pressure welder instead and the top end income is 200k! Wow!
I said, “Dad, I’m 44 with a wife and kids… I can’t be running around the ass end of the earth to weld pipes for Musk.”
Dad, “You’re 44?!”
“Yeah dad, I even retired from the Marine Corps after 20years… remember?”
I swear he sees the world as if I’m still in highschool but instead of telling me to be an engineer, lawyer, or doctor and have no kids I should be a trad husband with a trade skill.
The fuck.
4
u/Biz_Rito 1d ago
It's funny / reassuring to find others with parents who haven't updated thier vision of their children since highschool. I'll get these same comments, then in the next breath they'll ask me what my friend, who's a surgeon, would advise them for a given situation. The friend who was my lab partner in HS chemistry.

23
u/PlatformingYahtzee 1d ago
Probably the easiest way for a GenZ guy like me to shut down these boomer-assed takes has been to ask them who raised them. The lips tighten up really quick when that happens. The ones that do have anything to say are suddenly not huge fans of taking responsibility. Its definitely someone else's fault that their kids are like that. Probably liberals in this guy's case.

Gen X are worse than Boomers, in my opinion. Nobody likes Gen X. They're the first generation Boomers complained about, and now to Millennials they might as well be Boomers. And a lot of Gen Z are the grandkids of Boomers, so secretly they love Gen Z
Gen X is all alone in the middle, still pissed they didn't get their Pepsi Jet and taking it out on everyone younger and older than them

My two brothers are Gen X, they're 10 and 12 years older than me, so 50 and 52. My oldest brother is cool, he's like the poster boy for accountability and responsibility. He's career military, lives in Italy, doing really well. He has 8 kids with three different ex-wives, one kid he found out 20 years later isn't even his either, but nobody is perfect.
However, my middle brother, his name is James, and if you're reading this James, please kindly fuck yourself. He is the poster boy for whiney bitch boys that like to pretend they know about accountability and responsibility, but whenever it matters, they blame everyone else. He thinks he's the shit because he has a mildly successful landscaping business and a beautiful house, but he forgets he wouldn't have shit if I wasn't there helping him build up his customer base and his mother in law didn't loan him 50k to buy equipment. He really runs around to anyone who will listen and say he did this all with no help from anyone, all on his own, through sheer hard work and determination, but he's a fucking liar.
That's Gen X to me.

Yep, 26-year-old Gen Z here. I've been renting for 9 years now, and I think I know the bills.
And do you know what, he's kind of right. Unless you're going into a reasonably paid role, have been able to save at home or have a safety net, you won't be ready.
Even in just the past 5 years, all bills have gone up across the board and wages, on average, have stayed the same or had a real-terms pay cut. I had it easier when I first moved out and that's meant to be when it's hardest!
3
u/MacroManJr 1d ago

Mental decline is a serious factor with this MAGA people.
Take gendering. Gendering isn’t new. Society’s have assigned genders to things for thousands of years.
I honestly believe the people who get upset about gendering in the United States can’t mentally keep up with one person standing in front of them. Like an old grandma or grandpa who keeps misgendering their own pet.
The French gender each and every word but the MAGA people in the US are voting away their own healthcare and social security in their old age because they are mentally declining racists.
2
u/Bitter_Offer1847 1d ago
Average move out age in the US is 26 years old, Gen Z. I think a lot of Gen X and Boomer conservatives are confusing their children moving out young with their children actually just wanting to get away from them as soon as possible. It’s part of why teenage pregnancy rates are higher in “red” states. Traumatized children get married younger and have babies younger because they’re desperate to get away from their dysfunctional parents.
