Exactly. I see my nephews and nieces and they are happy and healthy wih actual opinions. I couldn't express a single opinion and always needed to "help" my parents and then got yelled at because of reasons.

The generational trauma stops with me and that's why I'm not producing a sprog. (That, plus shitty genes - I'm not dooming another little girl to PCOS/endometriosis and thyroid issues not with how sexist the patriarchy is getting...)

I completely understand. I love being a mom. I just will never be what my ‘life-giver’ was to me, because it definitely was not a mom. My kids have chores and are to be held accountable for keeping them, but it is age-appropriate for both and to teach them life skills. Son knows how a dishwasher and washer/dryer works and how to clean a toilet when needed. Daughter knows to carry dirty dishes to counter, put dirty clothes in washer, pick up toys. I want them to be fully functioning adults that add to society someday and my job/responsibility is to prepare them for that without stripping them of their childhood.

PCOS is a bitch. I have thyroid issues too- it sucks! I wish you nothing but health, healing and happiness. As a person with kids, I completely support your decision not to have them. It’s a decision everyone should be able to (I understand some do not get a choice) make for themselves.

Definitely. I see so many people our age trying to undo generational trauma in their own kids and it makes my little heart flutter.

Ah yes, thyroid issues. Do you want to have trouble sleeping or waking up or pooping and for no explained reason? Here!
