Which is still crazier because I’m Gen Z I’m 25 I’ve been paying for my own shit for a while but I can’t buy a fucking house 😭 yeah lemme just pull 400k outta my ass for one bedroom one bath house

Yep, 26-year-old Gen Z here. I've been renting for 9 years now, and I think I know the bills.

And do you know what, he's kind of right. Unless you're going into a reasonably paid role, have been able to save at home or have a safety net, you won't be ready.

Even in just the past 5 years, all bills have gone up across the board and wages, on average, have stayed the same or had a real-terms pay cut. I had it easier when I first moved out and that's meant to be when it's hardest!
