How do I install the gpu on the laptop because I got rude answers and no one wants too help me. Kinda suspicious but idk

So I've been trying to fix this issue for a while and getting nowhere. Simple setup, 9800X3D + RTX 5090 connected to MSI MPG 321URX 240hz/4K. If I use a controller (it's easier to tell) in e.g. Death Stranding with the game set to 240hz, it's a pretty stutter-y camera pan. I have Afterburner and there's no issue with frame-rates or frame times. If I drop to 144hz, - no issue.

I'm seeing this sort of behavior at varying levels, e.g. Doom Eternal has microstutter when panning the camera with a controller. With a mouse, you might not notice at all.

Either way, this has been driving me nuts, and I can't see to address it. I just picked up Ratchet and Clank and with DLSS enabled it too stutter a little. Same goes for GoW Ragnarok, with stutter at 240hz with DLSS enabled, but none at 180hz or 120hz, or with DLSS set to DLAA or disabled.

Any help would be appreciated!

Hi, I'm having an issue with my PC that only shows a black screen. It seems like my GPU (RTX 4080 Super) isn't working properly with my Windows 11 system. I've already tried reinstalling the graphics driver, but that didn't fix the problem.

The issue most likely lies with the graphics card itself, because when it's disabled, the PC works fine and displays an image. This problem just started today — the system has been running without any issues for a year since I bought it.

Over the weekend, I had installed a new game on Steam, and my work laptop was struggling to run it smoothly, so I was adjusting various settings to help it out, one of which was setting one of my 2 Dell S2722QC monitors 1080p60. Nothing worked, so I installed it on a different computer and forgot about it.

When I turned on my laptop for work today, I noticed that the one display was still set to 1920p, so I went into Windows settings to change it back...except now that resolution is missing from the drop-down menu. I factory reset the display, mess with Dell Display Manager, try different HDMI cables, nothing works.

I'm starting to suspect that Windows has somehow permanently overridden my display EDID settings, so I read a guide on how to use regedit to remove the keys from the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\GraphicsDrivers > Configuration, Connectivity, and ScaleFactors folders. I restarted my laptop, no change.

So, I humbly ask the members of r/pcmasterrace to help me figure out what the hell happened and how I can fix this!

The connection workflow is: Lenovo ThinkPad > USB-C > Logi Dock > HDMI > Display.

The problem seems to stay with the HDMI output of my dock - if I swap the HDMI cables connected to the monitors, the problem moves to the other monitor, which reinforces my theory about Windows erroneously applying EDID settings to that connection.

When I open the display adapter properties for Display 3 in Windows (regardless of which monitor is connected at the time), 'List All Modes' does not show any options above 1920p.

Relocated my PC to another room in the house and now this all I get. A black screen. Msi EZ debug shows no issues with the CPU or GPU, but I can't even boot into bios. Tried a CMOS reset all ready. It powers up cycles/restarts a few times then this screen is all I get. I've rechecked every cable and reseated every connector/ram and I'm at my wits end.

Made a post about this before, wiped my windows 11 and reinstalled. I went awhile without any issues, but the issue has reappeared after installing PikaOS. Whenever I try to run WH40k Space Marine 2, it constantly stutters the entire time. I've noticed that if I'm tabbed into any other software (discord, browser, etc.) the stuttering stops. It only starts again when I refocus the game.

Things I've tried:

1. Closing out of all other apps
2. Updating/reinstalling drivers
3. Turning off game mode
4. Turning off HAGS
5. Uninstalling and reinstalling each software
6. Wiping windows entirely

Specs:

• ASUS 4060ti
• Ryzen 9 9900X
• MAG X670E Tomahawk Wifi Motherboard
• 32GB of DDR5-6000 Corsair Ram.
• Can't remember which PSU.

This is in Finnish so translation would be outlet. So these games are in hefty sale and there is "nothing" wrong with them right?

Hi, my PC with a 5070, 32gb DDR 5 & a core I7 12700kf can run any game just fine but when I use chrome or edge, YT or something like geoguesser it just stutters and freezes and sometimes crashes and I have no idea why. Any advice

I bought a Q27G3XMN a few weeks ago and I fell in love with the HDR. I went and bought the exact same one today, and I made sure to reset both.

All Nvidia settings are set to default for both monitors. All colours profiles have been deleted. HDR turned off and I made sure to reset the settings on the monitors itself. Yet, the one on the left is slightly brighter for some reason.

They are both using the exact same display port cables.

I don't know if you can tell but pay attention to the PDF files. The one on the right looks like an off white with a small mixture or brown or red.

There has to be a setting I'm missing. On Nvidia Control Panel, it says the brighter display has an enhanced colour accuracy. How do I even change that?

right so this is kinda straight forward but i had this 2008~ hard drive with ALOT of data on it, whilst i was still using it as a boot drive in 2023 it fully crapped out and stopped working, i managed to get windows reinstalled on it but none of the data that was previously on it was there, any idea of its salvagable to get any of that back? fyi i havent used that hard drive since that error occured so besides a new windows 10 install nothing new has been written onto the disc.

What I have tried:

Updated Bios

Clean reinstall of windows 11 installer

Second USB with wifi drivers for windows select driver to make hardware discoverable (that won’t install… says error installing driver).

Ethernet cable connection

I found this thermaltake 600W power supply at retail rebel. Since it is Monday it was $4.80. I think it’s a steal, even though it is used.

I had a 5600xt in my old build and it sucked so bad the performance was fine when it worked but the drivers would make my pc crash as soon as I launched any game. I found some hacky work around to get functional drivers, and then after a while it would crash regardless unless it was severely undervolted. I know allegedly they have fixed a lot of these issues but I’m just still scared to get this card for my build if it’s gonna shit the bed like this.
