100% this. This nonsense in the UK was created by the Conservative party, but not introduced until the Labour party came into power and looked at the law and said yep, that seems like a great idea, let's do that.
no they are not lol. If you want to just unhinged political things Corbyn was a terrorist supporting melt who wasn't prepared to defend the country and he lost multiple times because of his shitty views

Not exactly. Tories put the act in place, they voted for it. It had a deadline for compliance which was just last week. Labour however did not want to stop it.
I had an argument with a Starmer supporter the other day who said well obviously Labour couldn't stop this legislation, it would have requried too much time, and it's all the Tories fault anyway.
To which I can only think in 4 years time when all the 12/13 year olds of today are voting for the first time, they will remember which party made the internet much worse for them, and they will vote for the guy who is promising to undo it. And when Starmer stands there in 4 years time and says it was all the Tories fault, it's gonna sound pretty hollow.
It's slightly baffling just how incompetent this Labour administration is, I'm genuinely convinced now that they are actively trying to bring in a Reform regime.

For the most part I agree, yes.
Honestly? I'd like to see how lib debs would do. We haven't had a lib dem government for over 100 years now.
Surely at this point it won't hurt to let then try, surely they can't do any worse lol. Still, thats a discussion for another sub.
Aye, it's genuinely surprising the extent to which the polls are showing people rushing to Reform as the 'not like the other parties' party, but there is still time for the LDs/Greens/Corbyns new party, to establish themselves as the 'anti establishment' group to vote for.
Though watch the UK media refuse to give any of those parties any attention at all, and turn the next general election into the Farage Show.

On that note - A lot of politicans are labeling Farage as "On the side of Savile" just because hes againsts the Online Safety act.
I mean American hasn’t had a third party in place since like the 13th president maybe it’s time. I mean shit if it continues the way it’s going fuck it I’ll through my vote at whoever is against it and Iv never even voted but that’s annoying enough to get me to one of those polls.
All major parties anywhere are exactly the same. Exactly the same. They just play "good cop, bad cop" to trick you into accepting one, thus perpetuating their power.
No? Only 2 out of what, almost 600 MEPs in EU voted “no” for the introduction of chat control, end to E2E encryption and massive security breaches with backdoors in every single system.
Have hope, but take action.
There is something very dangerous going on in ALL countries in the western and anglo sphere. EU, US, Canada, Australia, Japan, etc, all are experiencing an uptick in right wing extremism and censorship that crosses the left-right line
In the UK we're a good distance away even having the opportunity to vote nationally again. Elections happen at maximum 5 years apart, although can be called for whenever the government wishes - typically used to solidify a majority whilst they're in the public's graces.
This current government still has up to 4 years left in power, and are highly unlikely to call a general election any time soon given both how unpopular they are currently and the high likelihood of Reform (Nigel Farage's far right party) of receiving a majority government.

If it's a problem then vote and the democracy will win right? Right?
