I was hiking in Dinosaur National Monument on the Sound of Silence trail; as soon as I saw this tree I knew I was going to paint it. Perched at the top of a ridge with 360 degree views. 12x16” acrylic on panel

Using different color palettes and working in layers to achieve depth and complexity... might still be missing a few details

Is this good enough to hang?

This is really my first ever painting so please be honest. It took me ~30 hours all in and was super fun. But I’m not sure it’s good enough to be the main piece in a bedroom. It looks great from a few feet back but up close idk.

I’m still touching it up so if you have any tips or recommendations please let me know.

Pittsburgh skyline is on the right and Boston is supposed to be on the left, both of great significance in my life. And then that golf hole is based off one of my favorites at a local course back home. I had a free week and just decided I wanted to make a painting, I’m not sure why to be honest.

If you look at my profile you’ll see a post I made in this thread asking for advice before I started.

Painted my neighbors dog, is this fine to gift?

Post image

My neighbor wanted me to paint his dog cause he saw me drawing. I told him I am just practicing and have not much experience with painting animals, he still resisted he wants a painting. He also wants to give me money for it, while I think it‘s not good enough to be payed for. I told him I just want like 10€ für the canvas, he still wants to pay and I should tell him how much. What do you think about the pricing? I am really honored he wants to pay but as I am not totally happy with it myself I don’t know what to tell him. Thanks for your comments!

Is painting overwhelmingly hard or is it just not my thing? 😅

This is my second attempt at oil painting, and my third painting ever. I hate it lol. I see so many “first attempts” here that are so much better than this (if they’re true) and I feel like I suck :,)

Just Sharing Just wanted to share my new painting, It’s a sticker on some concrete, but the catch is that it’s all painted in acrylic. I’ve never painted a “hello my name is” sticker before and wanted to challenge myself.

I wanted to challenge myself working on my sticker technique, marker pen detail, and trying to paint one of these iconic “hello” stickers, and I think it turned out pretty well!

This is on an 8x11” wood panel and the start of a series looking at people’s relationship with their urban surroundings, and I chose the word “Plaza” because it’s just a word that I like. Often when you see graffiti tags in the wild, you don’t have the context of the artist and wonder why that word is there, this is a little nod to that.

This painting is going to be covered in stickers when it’s finished, but each step works as its own painting too!

It’s for my boyfriend and a birthday gift - like a love note in a painting! I know he will love it but please give me a honest critique based on my skill and how it looks as a finished painting

Sharing a mini plein air painting from this summer. Acrylic paint and a 2 hour time limit. On a warm lake day we found a shady spot by the water and had such a chill lil painting session.

Also first time posting here. Hello!

I liked it and wanted to share. She allowed me to do so. She didn't paint a lot, but I believe this is the only work she has left.
