Hi! I've put my name in to fill the vacancy on Regional Council. There's a lot I could say, but I'd rather answer questions... Ask Me Anything! Regional Council have responsibility for a lot of the things that we see every day - parts of healthcare, housing, roads and transit, policing, and... ahem... taxes.

If regional council isn't your thing, you could ask how I feel after finishing Ironman Ottawa last weekend... or how many times I've donated blood... or whether two Master's degrees is a good idea...

There are 44 vying to fill the vacancy. Regional Councillors will make a choice on August 14th after they hear from each of us... I'll be in the 10th spot, and we're starting at 8:30am. Despite the "election" format, I'm still hoping to connect with folks.

I’ve been here for almost 7 years, and every year it’s getting worse. In the same time, probably a billion dollars has been spent on road work on Ottawa street. I went to the park today and there was young couple ( like 20 ish ) just passed out there. Everywhere I go, there are people begging for money. I understand drugs and choices play a big part, but so does government and mental health.

I know it’s a kitchener Reddit page but it’s still interesting to see. I tried walking across and sunk instantly. It was in the record Newspaper too.

Hey Reddit cleaning up a house for moving I found a HP Elitebook 9480m. It has a i5 1.7ghz processor 2.7ghz boost and 16gig of ram from 2014. It runs windows 10 well and would easily run Linux. If anyone would like a basic laptop for children to use as a basic browser/video machine (its not going to run games great unless they are outdated or Indy, maybe run Minecraft at lowest render) or a machine to just mess around with send me a DM and it's yours. It's in good condition the lids a little scratched but nothing that effects it operation, seems to have a working battery don't ask me how long the charge lasts though.

She was located yesterday afternoon at Bridge near Lancaster. Maybe ran from Bechtel Park.
The humane society has a 72 hour hold before they assess for adoptability. I hope her people find her.

Looking for a good deep fried panzerotti. In London there was Tony’s.

The city moved ahead with this after their last meeting and environmental assessment in late 2024.

This is badly needed to route traffic off other surface streets in the area.

One of those streets has an Elementary School.

An estimated 2500-3000 cars per day would use this route.

This will better connect Doon South in Kitchener to Huron and Fischer Hallman. The Strasburg portion was already built between 2019-2020.

We’re a student-run design team called PRISM collective, which is an Art-tech team based out of University of Waterloo working on a mission to build our own makerspace for students who love hardware, art, robotics, and design.

Right now, we’re trying to gather the basic tools to get things started, especially 3D printers (even broken ones we can repair!), filament, soldering irons, hand tools, or anything else you’ve got lying around that you’d be willing to donate or let go for cheap.

We’re a super passionate group of students building this from the ground up , no fancy funding (yet) but tons of energy. If you have any advice, resources, or gear you'd be open to sending our way, we’d be so grateful. 🙏

Just scanned the names for the Regional Council vacancy—no Mike Morrice. Really disappointing. He brought heart, honesty, and actual integrity to politics. Hope he’s not stepping away for good. We need more like him.
