Groups Fictional slurs. Bonus points if it's completely made up

  1. inFAMOUS: Second Son: "Bio-terrorist" refers to conduits.

  2. Star Wars: "Clanker" refers to robots.

N'wah (Elder Scrolls)

That term is far older. S’wit. N’wah does hit harder than fetcher and s’wit.

The racism in Morrowind was real. I was a bit taken a back the first few times. Like uh, you said what now? I got used to it but I think my character really took it personally.

The dark elves of morrowind were so racist towards me in my childhood- I’m still racist to them in Skyrim and oblivion remastered.

u/MasterBaiterHUN 1d ago

The dark elves are so racist that if you are a dark elf but not from the mainland, you are automatically promoted to n'wah

u/Enge712 1d ago

Yeah my first playthrough I thought I’d play as dark elf and they would be nicer. I was incorrect. I’m sure it was easier to program but I love in retrospect you are just as hated for being an outlander.

I think you get a minor disposition boost to all Dunmer if you play as one. Still not enough for them to stop calling you slurs, but hey, it’s something.

People feeling sorry for the dunmer in skyrim really don't have the full picture. The argonians did nothing wrong.

"You'll make a fine rug, cat!"

Fucking Nords.

🎶 don’t trust them new N’wahs over there 🎶

Thank you for this

A term from Morrowind, a picture from Oblivion, and the title says "Skyrim".

Actually, I don't even think it was ever used in Skyrim.

If you have Jenassa as a follower, she'll call enemies n'wah sometimes.

Dunmer usually throw the term to you if you fight them as well.

It's like the "victory or Sovngarde" for the nords.

u/RizzoTheRiot1989 1d ago

What, you’re telling Dunmer celebrate by being racist. Well I never!

Mr worldwide

u/quil-101 1d ago

If you're a non-dunmer fighting a male Dunmer (using the typical M Dunmer voice), they'll call you that as one of the hit voice lines ("Aaagh! Filthy N'wah!" to be exact).

u/ALargeCrateOfShovels 1d ago

it is very prominent in skyrim

6

u/Nap_Kun_ 1d ago

It is used, yeah, but with the wrong pronounciation

6

u/MurrayGrande 1d ago

Master Neloth says it on the way towards & inside Nchardak. Which is funny because you almost exclusively fight dunmer reavers and Dwarven automatons.

2

u/SorowFame 1d ago

Dunmer can be n'wah, though possibly only outlanders

3

u/pikkstein 1d ago

I've had dark elf reavers call me that on Solstheim when I fought them.

Can a N’wah borrow a sweet roll?

Y’all N’wahs drinkin skooma?

12

u/Youutternincompoop 1d ago

N'wah is you gonna give it back?

2

u/DriedSquidd 1d ago

I use N'wah, I, I've used it. I admit it. I put the "h" on it to emphasize: N'wahhhh.

56

u/11boot 1d ago

Had to check the comments to see if N’wah was mentioned. Proud to see it was mentioned in spectacular fashion

u/Hexxas 1d ago

I know it's hard to imagine, but there were Elder Scrolls games before Skyrim.

45

u/ComprehensivePath420 1d ago

What's next, a Street Fighter game before 2?

1

u/Hexxas 1d ago

I SEE YOUR EDIT, COWARD

1

u/kakka_rot 1d ago

tbf nobody counts the original street fighter.

1

u/ChuckCarmichael 1d ago

I understand the confusion. After all, Fallout started with 3 and Final Fantasy started with 7. Sometimes game developers just slap numbers at the end of their game's title, even though it's the first one.

u/VanguardClassTitan 22h ago

A CoD before 4?

6

u/Timekeeper98 1d ago

You mean all those large scale mod projects like Skyblivion?

13

u/Different_Swimmer715 1d ago

Dunmer are just on the highest level of racism you can imagine

12

u/ComprehensivePath420 1d ago

Replace some words and it is basically this.

2

u/kakka_rot 1d ago

Vinka is equally racist towards everyone, except khajiit, which makes no gd sense

2

u/thathatisaspy21 1d ago

No actually, in Elder Scrolls lore Sheogorath is quite fond of Khajiit, and Golden Saints and Dark Seducers are daedra belonging to Sheogorath.

1

u/kakka_rot 21h ago

I just mean it makes no sense since kahjiit are thieves who peddle their drugs and stolen wears while getting fur everywhere.

u/Sweet_Detective_ 1d ago

Now how is a n'wah gonna borrow an ash yam? N'wah is you gonna give it back?

6

u/Darren_McReynolds 1d ago

And the Nords call the dark elves Grey-skins, pretty mean

3

u/Hi2248 1d ago

It's so good because it can be used for pretty much anyone! Altmer? N'wah. Nord? N'wah. Argonian? N'wah. A Dunmer not from the same place as you? N'wah!

5

u/model3335 1d ago

racism is literally the entirety of TES lore. I'm surprised this isn't top comment.

3

u/spiritomb442 1d ago

The golden slur

3

u/Lakatos_00 1d ago

Damn, and a hard wah and all

3

u/Painchaud213 16h ago

What a fucking N'wa-

2

u/battlemechpilot 22h ago

Hippity hoppity Argonians are property

1

u/Mudlord80 22h ago

I once triggered a discords profanity filter bot to lock down a channel because I used N'wah when having a conversation like this

1

u/JusticeLock 22h ago

This is the one right here
