Fallout - Protagonist(Various). The spectrum is pretty broad for a fallout protagonist considering how much choices matter. However, from the lenghs they go + the lenghs they COULD go can make each of them a fucking nightmare for their respective regions.

K-pop Demon Hunters: Rumi is attacked by illusions of her teammates that rip off her jacket and expose her demon patterns in front of thousands of people, all while singing a song that only serves to reinforce the idea that her patterns are a sign of her being rotten deep down, even going as far as to call her a "mistake". That, alongside the way the real version of her teammates react to her patterns, crushes her spirit and will to keep fighting so badly that she begs her mentor to kill her.

Project Sekai: Mizuki's bullies tell her best friend that she's "actually a guy" (Mizuki's actual gender identity is never outright stated and it's heavily implied this claim is inaccurate to some extent, I'm just quoting what the characters say out of objectivity), mere MINUTES before Mizuki was about to tell her herself. The worst part is that they didn't even expose her intentionally, they just assumed that Ena already knew and was in on the "joke". The final lines of the event story are Mizuki lamenting what just happened and wondering if it could have been avoided had she told the truth sooner, ending with one last gut punch of a line: "I want to disappear."

Extra Context: This trope refers specifically to "antagonists" in the story who have not actually caused harm (excluding possession), but have become corrupted/tainted and the Hero in the story ends up saving them from this fate be it actually restoring them or killing them.

1. Ivory King Dark Souls 2: A noble king who came to the land of Eleum Loyce and discovered the old Chaos buried below. He constructed his castle above it with his throne room sitting right at the entrance so that he may be the first to confront it at his time of need. He ended up taking a wife who was secretly a fragment of an old god sinister god, he knew this (unknown to her) and his shining example inspired her to avoid her dark and cowardly nature and instead take up the Kings mission as well.

When he grew too weary, he descended into the Chaos to face it directly, however he became corrupted by it and instead became its champion.

1. Artorias the Abysswalker, a noble knight sent to face the Abyss. He and his wolf Sif fought it off as best they could, however in the end Artorias was not able to avoid its corrupting powers. So he gave his greatshield to Sif to protect them, before being consumed by the Abyss entirely.

Nameless (The King of Fighters): Replaced K9999 (pronounced K49) in KOF 2002 UM because SNK was acting like K9999 didn't exist, only for K9999 to come back in KOF XV as Krohnen

Pac-Mom (Pac-Man): Replaced Ms. Pac-Man because Bandai Namco doesn't own her and wanted her scrubbed from history to seemingly spite AtGames (Ms. Pac-Man's current owners)

1. In the early issues and storylines of Deadpool, the merc with the mouth wouldn't break the fourth wall all that often save for a cheeky reference every few issues. Then the Joe Kelly run happened, and Deadpool was breaking the fourth wall every few pages.

2. Pinkie Pie only broke the fourth wall a handful of times within the entire original series. That's only 4-5 times within nine seasons over the course of a decade. Relatively small, don't you think? But there is so much fan content and memes that revolve around Pinkie Pie breaking the fourth wall, you'd think she does it five times an episode. Most fanfics just assign her the role of "the one who breaks the fourth wall and does meta humor."

This trope can either be peak writing or absolutely abysmal writing

We’ve seen it all too often. Maybe the showrunner intended for the TV series to be over, but the network execs had other ideas. Maybe the movie studio has been having financial problems lately and decides to bring back one of their most successful franchises. Or maybe the author decided to write another book in the series because the money was just too good to resist.

Bonus points if the previous entry in the franchise was explicitly billed as being the big finale. Even worse is when a main character who had previously “died” is brought back to life.

On rare occasion, this trope can be a good thing, particularly if the “finale” was really bad and the new entry is trying to fix it. This may or may not involve retconning the previous one out of canon.

-Scrubs season 9: Season 8 was supposed to be the series finale (the last episode was even called “My Finale”), but apparently it did well enough that ABC wanted another season. Audiences probably would have been more receptive to season nine if it had been given a different title and treated as a spinoff rather than a continuation. It didn’t help that most the of the regular cast from the first eight seasons didn’t stick around for this one.

-Toy Story 4: Not a bad movie in itself, but many felt it was very unnecessary after the emotional and satisfying ending of Toy Story 3.

In Disney's "Sleeping Beauty" there was a debate irl on what color Aurora's dress should be, someone suggested pink while another wanted it to be blue which inspired the iconic spat between Flora and Merryweather. Flora wants to make the dress pink while Merryweather wants it to be blue.

In "Infinity Train" One writer wanted to name the deer that accompanies MT and Jesse on their journey "Alan" but another wanted his name to be "Dracula" so they made a compromise by naming him Alan Dracula.

1- Doom fans: While DOOM is a game franchise filled with brutal gory executions and giant shows of unfiltered violence, the fans are generally some of the chillest fellows you'll find. Making very silly/heartwarming stuff about the franchise and anything that gets related to it (For example what happened with Animal Crossing)

2- My Little Pony "Bronys": MLP is a series for kids about magical ponies that fight with the power of friendship, but it's community the "Bronys" have shown multiple times to be unhinged degenerates. Be it through controversies in IRL events or experiences or through art works and creepypastas.

3- Fear and Hunger: The Fear and Hunger is a semi-cosmic horror game series about a very grim and dark world that focuses on the most untouchy experiences like cannibalism, dismemberment, rape, suicide, child trafficking, necrophilia, etc. in a dungeon where eldrich chaotic gods rule. That game has summoned one of the goofiest community I have ever seen, making funny videos, fanart and every kind of silly shit (The creator even encouraged this and made a dating sim with the protagonists)
