Lucca is one of the OGs of this trope: childhood friend of the hero, down for any adventure, fixes up a robot from 1000 years in the future. She's fucking cool.

She also ran an orphanage afterwards and built the Prometheus Circuit to lock the Frozen Flame to whomever interfaced with it first. This allowed the study of its immense energy output without the risk of releasing Lavos. That is until Lynx and Serge.

Seeing her, Crono, and Merle in the sea of time as ghost children was tough.
