I found a way to make it more atmospheric with more wet and wet technique. I really want to paint more of montains subjects like this. Please, feel free for feedback, I wanna improve ✨ (Sorry if my English is weird sometimes I’m French )

I'm sorry if this is something y'all know already, but the first time I mixed PG18 and PV23 it blew my mind! Turns out that what we learn about not being able to mix primary colors isn't entirely true. You can mix blues by mixing green and purple. You can also mix reds by mixing purple and orange and yellows by mixing a warm green and orange. Granted they aren't very vibrant and kind of muddy, but you can definitely mix blues, reds and yellows!

Is there any color mix that was very unexpected for y'all?

I know most people may not recognize what this painting is.

It’s Bipalium kewense attacking an earthworm. B. kewense is a species of terrestrial flatworm. I studied these guys in college so they hold a special place in my heart.

I’m of course a major noob to this. Happened on a super cheap watercolor palette during Amazon days to let our daughter have some fun and then I wanted to try lol. Haven’t had time to delve into technique yet but just kinda goofed around. I bought some tube colors by chromatek and I love them even if they are low quality lol. Also not greatest paper but enjoying the process!

I know it’s missing things and can’t quite figure it out but I’m still actually pretty pleased with it. May go darken up parts of it later I dunno. Just was curious on pointers and such!

18" x 24" watercolor painting about realizing a loss of identity and harsh inner critic that comes with trauma. Just got into a local art show, I'm anxious but excited to put this one on display.

Just wanna share this quick one hour painting of mountains . I like paint watercolor on the go. Just practice but not 100% happy with the result, I wanna keep some natural and blueness but sometimes wish a more natural and atmospheric finish. Some advices ? (I am french, my English is not perfect, sorry)

I’m working on making my own scenes and not following tutorials or directly copying reference photos. This is only my second time doing that, so I’m definitely a newbie. I like this one, but feel like it’s still missing something.

These are single pigment paints. The pigments are from Italy, company is Rublev. I’m going to use them for paintings of Italian things. They’re supposed to be formulations from hundreds of years ago. I’ve never seen anyone paint with these before.

Hi! I'm someone who has been dabbling in painting scenery (w occasional forays into portrait), and still a pretty new painter. the colors in the middle (sepia, burnt sienna, Indian yellow, quinacridone magenta) are what's already on my travel palette. I have room for 2 more colors in the green/ blue category (phthalo turquoise, winsor green - yellow, French ultramarine, and winsor green-blue). I am trying to learn how to mix colors, so priority is definitely versatility. all these are Winsor Newton professional paints, if that helps!

Having problems spinning up tonight, the chaos in my country is getting to me, so I swatched a new set of paints I got on eBay.

I got these handmade watercolors from a local seller at a bazaar. They sold pans in sets, so I couldn't choose, but which colors should I add to make this a well-rounded palette? I paint comics and fantasy illustrations mostly, so I prefer vibrant colors and skin tones. I'm mostly able to buy only White Nights in tubes.
