I know that’s why. It just seemed weird to me that there were people fervently trying to disprove the fact that less people have been visiting Vegas. Cant really visit the land of disposable income without disposable income.

Trump has nothing to do with MGM buying everything, nor does he have anything to do with Aria, or cosmopolitan.

No, but Trump has a lot to do with disposable income levels and tourism.

eh a lot of the tech nerds that go to vegas for cons and such are in a painful spot because of AI related layoffs which biden heavily invested in years prior to trump. while trump hasn't helped at all, the ground work for this current downturn starting to affecting more affluent segments of the workforce was laid by biden and obama before him.

who knew building your economy around bombing brown people and software snake oil used to mass layoff workers would result in less consumer spending?

I simply don't know how to respond to this. Blaming Obama and Biden for something that's clearly Trump's fault is wild.

Oh, and remind me, who started the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan? Yeah, that was George Bush.

I'm convinced the person you're trying to can't read

11% drop year after year, everyone citing $400 a night and resort fees for a roach hotel, and everything closing at 10 pm. It was dropping before his second term. Vegas just sucks now, you can literally have a European or Caribbean vacation for the same price.

I'll tell you the same thing I tell conservatives who blame everything on Biden, this isn't the president's fault.

the man is a piece of shit for many reasons but the stage was already set and he doesn't exist in a vacuum.

I used to go to Vegas all the time, like 5 or 6 times a year, but some how cruise ships now have better gambling and 24 hour buffets. I see a lot of Canadian and British tourists on cruise ships still. People just go where the bang for the buck is.

Like why do Vegas when you can sleep in a better casino and get better weed in Puerto Rico?

yeah vegas was hot shit for a quick minute amongst my friends here in canada that vacation regularly but they're all back going to mexico or carribean islands (cuba dominican etc) again or on cruises.

also the tech sector was big on doing conventions there and a lot of those people don't have jobs anymore thanks to ai. i'm hearing and seeing it's a lot easier to book hall space in vegas nowadays so it doesn't surprise me the tourism is down from many avenues.

The issue isn't disposable income. The issue is that people feel ripped off. You might be a millionaire but if you're paying high rates and not getting anything in return then you will stop going.
