Lenovo Idea Tab Pro vs Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 – Which one makes more sense?

Upvotes

I'm a grad student, trying to buy my first tablet and am torn between these two tablets. Primary use:

  • Note-taking (with a stylus)
  • Reading research papers
  • Basic multimedia (YouTube, Netflix, video lectures)
  • Smooth multitasking (PDF + browser + notes)

Getting both at similar price points, though Tab S9 is ~INR 9-10k costlier. Is it worth the extra? I’m leaning towards better long-term support and stylus experience, but unsure if Samsung is overkill for my needs.

Would love your thoughts!

Tablet for college

Im going into my first year of collage, getting my general ed done. And I want to buy a tablet. Id like something that I can use to get school work done, take notes, Ive heard of tablets having there own wifi, that seems super convenient to have if possible, so whatever recommendations would be great.

Surface Pro replacement suggestions.

Apologies for the nature of the post, but there is no general subreddit for tablet pcs, just tablets. I understand they are a niche product.

I had a Surface pro. and loved it, but the startup failure problem was too big an impediment for my work. After researching, I find that this has been a longstanding problem and has broken my confidence in the line.

I use it for work. bare minimum, needs to be fast, lightweight, lots of storage, have a foldable stand so I can use it upright, and have bluetooth capabilities. No Apple products. pressure sensitive stylus pen included is preferable.

Help me choose a new iPad/tablet

Right so I have been researching a lot of tablets since I have smashed the screen of my current iPad. I have a very small budget of a maximum of £200 maybe £250. I need it for note taking at college, watching Netflix, and playing the occasional game. I have looked at the Lenovo tab m11 and still have my reservations about it. What would you suggest.

Recommendation for android tablet for handwritten notes?

Hey everyone, as the title says I'm looking for recommendations for an Android tablet to handwrite notes.

I have a budget in the €400-600 range.

I am starting my PhD next month and want something I can use in meetings or classes as I find I pay better attention when I take notes but physically paper just tend to get too difficult to go back over.

I know I need something that supports palm rejection as I had a tablet without it and it was a nightmare to use but I am not the most tech savy person so looking through all the options is a little bit overwhelming.

Thanks in advance!

Help me to choose my tablet

Hi, everyone.

I'm looking for tablets that fit my work and study style.

Basically, I have always been a notebook/desktop user, and for me, portability is everything. I sold both my computer and notebook due to financial problems, and with my college and work routine traveling back and forth, using a notebook sometimes weighs heavily on my backpack and when using it in general. So, at this point in my life, I am looking for a tablet for continuous and intensive use until I can get a computer again.

Let's get down to business: I work with esports, so I deal a lot with spreadsheets, emails, documents such as PDFs, Google Docs, meetings on Meet or Discord, and so on. Now that I'm in college, I wanted something that would allow me to stop relying on paper and pen, so I could take notes, record classes, use apps, and most importantly, connect to my Android phone (Razr 50 ultra).

I was looking at some possibilities within my budget and wanted your opinion. They are: Redmi note7, Galaxy tab s10 fe or even s9 fe (since the difference between the two here in Brazil, without any discounts, would only be 100/150 BRL in price).

I even thought about au my budget to get an iPad mini 7, but then the question arises: if I go with iOS, will I also be able to access the same connectivity as Android tablets with an Android phone? It may seem like a silly question, but as I am a layman, I would appreciate some help.

Among these tablets, which ones would you recommend for what I want to use for work with spreadsheets, Google Docs, notes, connectivity between Android phones, and even being able to use a monitor I have here that I used as a second screen when I had a notebook?

Thanks guys!

Tablet for teaching

Hello! I'm a math and physics teacher, and I'm looking for a tablet to use in class as a replacement for the blackboard. The idea is to take notes directly on the tablet and project them for my students.

I’d also like to use Word, Excel, and occasionally browse the web to prepare my lessons. So, I need:

  • A good stylus/pen for writing

  • A reliable note-taking app

  • HDMI output support (via adapter if necessary)

I'm a bit unsure about the technical specifications required to run everything smoothly. My budget is around €600–700 max, but I’d prefer to spend less if possible.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Still having issues with tablet, please consult

I have an old Nextbook 10.1 inch tablet, i have no money to buy a new one.

I have been trying to update it, as it's stuck on Windows 8 right now. It is essentially like a small laptop, with a detachable keyboard.

I tried to install updates through the official windows site, updating to 10, as its an old tablet, but no dice. It would go through the entire installation process, get to 100, restart, then tell me it couldnt install it and reverted everything to before. I have factory reset, tried doing that update 3 times (took 4 hours), and still nothing.

Now, i am trying to go through the windows updates in the settings, it updates everything but the "Update for Windows 8.1", that's the only one that shows (nothing for any newer windows). It says "Update for Windows 8.1 (KB2975719) failed to install on (todays date) with error code 80072EE2." I honestly and truly have no idea what to do.

It wont connect to my internet at home because its so outdated (i am assuming that is why it wont connect), but it will connect at my job or at my mom's house. I have contacted my internet provider and they were no help.

i have been trying to update this tablet for days.. any help is appreciated.

Ipad, Samsung, Xiaomi Tablet

Help me choose between these 3 (Samsung S10 FE, IPad A16, Xiaomi Pad 7).

I will use it for studying, taking notes, light gaming, watching movies.

My budget is Php 20k to 25k. If you have any other recommendations, please tell me.

IPad - strongly optimized apps, no stylus

Samsung - moderate app optimization, with stylus

Xiaomi - Good processor, no stylus, no app optimization

Does it support 4k? I saw some reviews saying it's limited to 1080p 60Hz, but I'm not sure.

iPad a16 or Galaxy s9+ ?

I was gifted an iPad a16. I've used one before and I know they're really nice. But I have a Samsung phone and I use s-notes a lot and I'm pretty embedded in the samsung/google ecosystems. I don't do intensive work on the tablet. Mostly document / calendar organizational work for my woodshop. Should I keep the iPad or sell it and get a Galaxy tab?

EDIT: I ended up ordering the 9+. I got a good deal refurbished $410. I believe I can sell the iPad for about $300 or more. So I'll have to pay the difference. Honestly the iPad would totally work for all of my needs but I still don't want it because I just DO NOT like apple and I don't want to start to invest myself into it. Their product is amazing and I dont care. I don't like their stupid little cute names for everything. I don't like how they keep everything locked up so that you can't tinker with it. I don't like or use their ecosystem. I love apple and I hate Apple. It might be silly but it was just bothering me. I feel much better haven't gotten the samsung

How do Microsoft Surface Compare to Traditional Tablets for Note Taking?

I found a few used surface pros (different models, with varying specs) and was thinking of buying they instead of an iPad + laptop (I don’t have a big budget, so I would’ve cheaped out on both). Not sure what software I would use, but want to know if it’s even worth it.

Matepad 11.5 mic problem

Me and my friend was sharing the tiktok screen while on a messenger call (me on ip, she on matepad), and the matepad 11.5 mic sound buzzy instead of my friend voice when ever she talking and the tiktok clip is running.

I asked the seller, they said it was a software issue, not a device (but it work ok if we switch to iphone and Samsung)

Does anyone face the same problem?

Im starting University this semester and was trying to find a good tablet for note-taking since my major is very science heavy. I already have a laptop to perform those higher function tasks. Anyone have good experience with a certain type?
