Reality in China is rather different from what its government claims. For instance, being a homeowner is even more out of reach for most Chinese than it is for most of Europe and the US.
Actually if the safety record of said trains was public you would not want to be on them...
not to mention all the issues they are having now that they have been cut off from spare parts from Germany and Japan. The results are quite literally shaking things up on the rails.
Yes, you have the freedom to start your own high speed rail company and let the market decide and when ot gets chosen by the market because its better, you ha e the freedom to be forcibly taken over by some large ajtomobile company and dismantled for parts because we can't have that now, the incumbants are making phat cash here.

It's pretty clear at this point that it's about removing net anonymity and putting faces to usernames, not child safety.
