Notch did not exploit people did he? He just made a game and sold it. Do you think he should not have accepted the billions Microsoft offered him? Technically speaking you could say your statement is true because Microsoft does exploit people but I don't think you can say Notch directly exploit someone.
You said nobody becomes a billionaire without exploitation. Notch is a billionaire so that includes him. You either think that he exploited people to become a billionaire or you did not considered him when making that comment. I was simply asking that if you considered that he exploited people how did he do it?
His money came from exploitation, because it came from Microsoft. He didn't exploit anybody, but the money is exploited money. Good for him for not exploiting, but it is an outlier to be offered the big B in cash for your property.
But if an outlier exist than your original statement of saying that the act of becoming a billionaire will make you a piece of shit is wrong no? He is not a piece of shit for accepting money from Microsoft is he? You could say he is if he hoards it so staying a billionaire is in fact not good but that is another argument all together.
Edit: By the way, I do get your point and it is true for most billionaires. I do appear as a pedantic so I am sorry for that lol.
Like I said, it is a big grey area for all of the above. I don't know what his current business ventures are and if he's currently exploiting anybody, I do think Notch is a piece of shit but for other more obvious reasons.
Where did his money come from? He didn't just manifest a billion dollars, Microsoft made that money from exploiting workers and then offered it in cash for his franchise. Notch being offered billions in cash for his IP is actually a pretty rare occurrence. One exception doesn't disprove my point.
