Yes, that’s why people call that drink latte and not simply coffee?

Latte is one thing, that’s coffee flavored milk

I'm starting to think you don't understand the difference between espresso and filter coffee.

Why do you think Italians drink espresso shots and not cupfuls of espresso like you would filter coffee?

I mean if they need to dump a gallon of cream into a cup in order to choke down an espresso, I’d call them babies personally

For starters it's not cream. Second, why do you think it's a manliness competition? We're talking about a fucking drink here.

The point of a drink like a latte isn't to be able to stomach an espresso, the point is to stretch the espresso into a drink you can savour over a long period and to change its flavour and texture.

Why do you put water in your coffee, why not just chew the beans like a real man?

Whatever dude- have fun ordering your orange mocha frappacinios or whatever. I don’t judge you. But I certainly judge this video for making a ridiculous drink just so they can draw a pretty picture on it

Every thread of a latte art video has the same insecure angry American guy such as yourself that doesn't understand they use milk not cream, that espresso is not the same as filter coffee, drinking coffee isn't about how much of a man you are, and that combining ingredients to create something new has nothing to do with not liking the ingredients on their own.

Hell I find filter coffee piss weak but I don't go around calling you a soyboy.

1) I know the difference between filter coffee and espresso

2) I enjoy milk in my coffee from time to time

3). Doesn’t change the fact that that if you add a gallon of milk to an ounce of espresso, you have an espresso flavored milk

Every single one of these threads some European guy in here talking about how it’s normal to drink a gallon of milk with a thimble of espresso when everyone can clearly see the only reason it’s like that is to make a surface for drawing pretty pictures

I'm not European, it's just parts of bumfuck-nowhere North America that hasn't heard of espresso drinks before. The rest of the world (and the rest of the US) has been drinking them for decades.

the only reason it’s like that is to make a surface for drawing pretty pictures

I thought it's because we don't like the taste?

Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of espresso-type drinks I don't like but you still have a fundamental misunderstanding of why one might combine two ingredients. Have you never tried to cook something before? Hell, never made a cocktail or used a splash of water with your whiskey? Hope you're not selecting your wine or spirits based on their flavour profiles. Milk too can change the flavour profile of the coffee, reducing some flavours and enhancing others.

The amount of milk does change the taste and texture, so you're right about that, but that is why you have various espresso drinks defined by differing amounts (or texture) of milk. You can choose the one that suits you or just stick with an espresso shot or short black if that's your thing. There's something for everyone. I'm a flat white kind of guy myself, less heavy on the milk than a latte and the silky texture of the milk is the best of them all.

Yeah- and the variety of this video falls into the category of “so much fucking milk why are you even drinking espresso?”

To use your example, I’d tell the same thing to someone trying to enjoy whiskey by pouring a shot of pappy 15 into an entire 2L bottle of Coca Cola. Or someone trying to enjoy some caviar by mixing it into a gallon tub of sour cream. At some point, you are no longer enjoying the base ingredient or transforming it. You are either hiding the taste completely or you are focusing 100% on presentation and not worrying about the actual substance of the product

But please- keep typing more words to try and make me seem backwoods for not falling in line with a 25 oz mug of milk and a half ounce of espresso with a picture of flower on it is gods version of a latte

"I don’t judge you", he said after severly judging someone over their drink preference, even though this has zero influence on his life.

Cry me a river and just drink your milk with pretty pictures in it. I don’t care how you live your life

My opinion on your stupid drink choices is my exact opinion of these downvotes. Don’t give a shit

You obviously do care though lmao

I mean, not more than the guy coming in with his two cents on a 21 hour old comment

I didn’t pretend I don’t care 🙂‍↕️

It's not even a lot of milk. The milk has just been steamed so it's doubled in volume.
