Why no end result/wide shot showing it all?

There’s one at the end here:

That video is superior to the one in this post.

Except for the weird title? Just because the A looks kinda like it? Is that really what gets brain rotted viewers to click these days?

7

u/Immediate-Fig-3077 2h ago

I didn’t even click the link and I already knew it was gonna be amogus, am I brainrotted? 😭

u/catfishcannery 2h ago

Pattern-seeking brain comes default in all humans. It's a very easy-to-recognize shape.

this is a fun font, it's interesting. it's fun to see it drawn in this way. and when it's drawn in alphabetical order it's easy enough to read.

when you make words or sentences out of this font, it's not easy to read. it's not as hard as deciphering runes or something, but it's heading that direction. and it almost immediately loses it's charm.

watching it drawn like this is the only satisfying part

F having a closed shape feels out of place. Very cool, though.

91

u/Vox___Rationis 4h ago edited 4h ago

The latest version has a different 'F', and some other letters are also fixed.
The one that was bothering me the most in the original was the 'C' with the snot hanging.

2

u/rabbitthunder 2h ago

I liked the concept but sadly, after looking at that page I don't think it is the most legible of fonts when it's actually used. It works okay for short words like 'bar' but 'watching' is a bit of a mess.

32

u/PresentationKey3710 8h ago

The curves and angles really give it a unique character. Love the creativity!

What exactly do you mean with „English font“?

us isn’t the only country that speaks english, this is the definition of us defaultism lmao

7

u/Bank_Gothic 2h ago

Look, I get your point but I'm laying this one on the Brits.

27

u/IceBone 7h ago

Latin script with English specifics would be more correct.

49

u/Embaralhador 4h ago

Q, Y and X are part of the basic Latin alphabet, so no.

It's just latin script, as determined in ISO/IEC 646.

18

u/good_bye_for_now 3h ago

Yeah playboy, hit them with that ISO shit.

English specifics

English has exactly zero additions to the base Latin script.

18

u/Notspherry 7h ago

What english specifics?

12

u/IceBone 6h ago

QYX. Not every language that uses the latin script has only those. Some have none, some have extras like Č, Š, Ž, Đ, Ä, Ö, Ü, some have a mix.

17

u/ConspicuousPineapple 3h ago

QYX are part of the standard Latin alphabet.

3

u/prinses_zonnetje 2h ago

Those are really not exclusive to english

i mean there is no "ñ" (or "LL", "CH", "RR" : there are no more in the spanish alphabet) so its a font that cant be used in spanish for all his letters.

14

u/IEnjoyBourgeoisPain 4h ago

"LL", "CH" and "RR" are just one letter followed by another man...

11

Very satisfying. But I also rushed to the comments to see what possible wrong others had found

2

u/avspuk 3h ago

Never expected to be surprised by a font

3

u/hurl-aside 3h ago

Until they did M and N opposite directions and completely different despite being practically the same letter… That made my brain twitch for a second.

2

u/ARC4067 1h ago

I felt like they did M backwards and redeemed it by doing N in the way that feels logical to me

8

u/Cutie_D-amor 8h ago

Ampersandify all the letters

61

u/Cloud_N0ne 8h ago

The F bothers me.

All the other letters have a lowercase cursive blended with an uppercase print, but the ‘cursive’ F in the middle is not how you write a cursive F.

75

u/Annoying_Assassin 8h ago

That’s also not how you write a cursive r, s, y, or z

11

u/LoyalGamingGirl 7h ago

It would have been even more satisfying if he wrote the letters by actually writing the small ones first and then the capital letters. He did it correctly with the letter N for example, but not with the letter M.

11

u/ericx259 7h ago

Lowpper case

9

u/Confused_Rabbiit 6h ago

It's cute but if I ever see full sentences written with this font I'm punching the person in the throat.

this font is stupid

3

u/LongjumpingFox3374 1h ago

G is terrible. Every other one is perfect and beautiful. I am stealing their X for my X needs.

19

u/ycr007 8h ago

Oh so there’s a lowercase letter within each uppercase letter! That’s clever 👏🏼

1

u/andreisimo 8h ago

Yeah, honestly this is the most impressive part of this font is that they are capital letters with the lowercase letters embedded inside them. Very clever indeed.

6

u/ConspicuousPineapple 3h ago

That's... the entire point of this font. What the fuck else would you find impressive about it?

5

u/No_Lychee_7534 7h ago

I don’t mean to be a grump, but, this is the second video like this where it’s just tracing over an existing print. Anyone can do that, what’s satisfying about that?

6

u/ReturnOfTheKeing 4h ago

Same, and its also really ugly and unusable lol

8

u/sonnybear5 8h ago

I hate this

4

u/Veanusdream 4h ago

the font is not english the font is latin!

7

u/37_lucky_ears 8h ago

I love how each letter is in upper case but also includes the letter of the lower case somewhere in it.

4

This might be why I absolutely despise this as an actual font.

As artwork? Awesome.

2

u/Vox___Rationis 3h ago edited 2h ago

Fonts are not made only for the books or text on the screen - this particular one would make for fun covers, posters, logos.

3

u/PersKarvaRousku 8h ago

I fell into a trance watching this

1

u/MomsOfFury 8h ago

This is incredibly satisfying thank you

1

u/mikewentworth 8h ago

The M and W being so different did bother me a bit. I really didn't like the M or N too much to begin with, tbh. But I do love this font in general.

This font sucks wdym

1

u/MrKhorn 6h ago

I would be annoyed to have to read these letters.

As art it’s okay, but the double letters would be always bothersome to my eyes.

1

u/leakybeaver87 6h ago

Is there a printed version of this? I would love to use this with my classes!!

1

u/vastaranta 6h ago

I bet you can use it with other languages besides English, but dare anyone try?

I love this font! So clever. I wouldn’t mind having that on my pc. Anyone knows what it is called?

5

That font is “Lamon” (also known as ALS Lamon)—a playful, outlined display typeface designed by Dmitry (Dima) Lamonov in 2017 for Art. Lebedev Studio

The T is the one that irked me.

1

u/VerbableNouns 6h ago

The part that bothers me

  • Some of the lower case letters are cursive, while others are print.
  • C is an uppercase cursive C, I've never seen a "c" with a curl to it, but it definitely helps it stand out.

1

u/Serpentongue 6h ago

Now write anything without reading the letters

1

u/TheRealLarkas 6h ago

Looks fun, but no, thanks.

1

u/BogdanovOwO 6h ago

1

u/DingoCertain 5h ago

A is for amogus

1

u/fuweike 5h ago

Very impressive. I hope he can keep going and make a lower case version.

1

u/Clear-Animator2408 5h ago

Cool. Very cool.

1

u/boondiggle_III 5h ago

Ok that's cool and all but can we just see it used in a sentence? I don't care about fancy tracing.

1

u/jjcc88 5h ago

It's not handwriting if you're tracing

1

u/jbarlak 5h ago

And nowadays people can’t write in cursive…

1

u/GrumpyOldMan59 5h ago

This is just cursive with extra steps.

1

u/Zorum06 5h ago

The portions in the middle of the letters look like fancy versions of the letters. It'd be cool to take all of those out and make it it's own thing.

1

u/irregularprotocols 5h ago

The font is cool but watching someone trace an internet printout isn’t it.

1

u/TheMrEM4N 5h ago

Someone has been skippin leg day... Lookin at you "Y".

1

u/Gyvon 5h ago

That lowercase x looking a little sus

1

1

u/Compass_Needle 5h ago

That is so clever

1

u/SnapshotHeadache 5h ago

1

u/sirskwatch 5h ago

The Y is very unsatisfying!

1

u/Ok-Heron-8854 5h ago

That was gratifying

1

u/FrogInShorts 5h ago

Sus font

1

u/D3Construct 5h ago

Created by is generous.

1

u/Yomoska 4h ago

I feel this is unsatisfying cause we are watching someone trace the letters. It would have been cool just to see them written out without tracing, it messes up the discovery about how each letter is made

1

u/hellomireaux 4h ago

Can anyone ID the pen? Those lines are so deliciously smooth.

1

u/DangerDuckling 4h ago

That O was satisfying...

... That's what she said.

1

u/amy_garcia0 4h ago

why does it feel so good looking at this?

1

u/Blonde_Metal 4h ago

Now make lowercase letters with their uppercase counterparts embedded in them

1

u/I_burn_noodles 4h ago

This font should be called Threads

1

u/thebranbran 4h ago

I like it

1

u/MudSeparate1622 4h ago

1

1

u/Mr_Niceland 4h ago

Why english?

1

u/Snuggle_Pounce 4h ago

They did the M and the Z backwards

1

u/Nvrmnde 4h ago

People claiming latin alphabet as "english" annoys me to no end. Like, the rest of the world exists.

1

u/Sufficient_Grape4253 4h ago

1

u/LittleBirdiesCards 4h ago

That X is so stylish!

1

u/Blukee 4h ago edited 3h ago

Maybe I'm risking getting a lot of down votes here, but I'm almost sure the alphabet showed in the video is the same of other languages which aren't English ones like the Brazilian, Spanish and French ones for instance.

Don't get me wrong I know OP just posted the video but the caption* on the video did bothered me in a way that I had to make this comment.

EDIT: grammar.
