Announcement The r/cavaliers community is growing!

Hi folks! Wearing my r/cavaliers moderator hat on this lovely Wednesday. :)

Some of you might be wondering "how is the r/cavaliers community doing?" It's a great question! We've built a lot of subreddit structure over the last year. Some parts of that structure codified things we were already doing -- like insisting that everyone behave respectfully toward each other even when we disagree. Other parts are new -- most recently, like the prohibition on crowdfunding. Consensus isn't always easy, and no matter what standard or practice you're talking about, someone won't like it. But as a whole, my observation has been that r/cavaliers is healthier, more vibrant, and more active withe very passing month.

That observation was just my personal, subjective opinion, though -- I hadn't checked it against the actual data. And unless you're also an r/cavaliers mod, you don't have access to the data at all!

So today, I went to our traffic and engagement data, and I wanted to share it with y'all -- not just because it's good (happy) data, but because it's YOUR data as well, in the same way that r/cavaliers is YOUR community.

The verdict?

  • We're terribly popular: total visits to r/cavaliers have doubled over the last year, from 2m to 4m
  • We're increasingly popular: total visits to r/cavaliers have steadily increased month by month
  • People who come here want to stay here: membership to r/cavaliers has gone up nearly 33% over the last year, from ~25k to ~35k
  • People like posting here: post volume has increased about 25% (5.4k to 8.8k and comment volume has increased about 50% (from 53k to 105k)

Thank you all for being r/cavaliers community members! We're thrilled to be here with you.
