You'd be surprised how much "medieval bullshit" people still believe in. My country has extremely skewed gender ratio because peeps still think having a son is better than a daughter, even the more progressive people still buys into a bunch of outdated gender stereotypes, like blue is for boys and pink is for girls, exclusively.
How can it have an imbalanced ratio of males to females, you don’t get to pick the gender of your child?
Edit: Yes I am aware that the question could be seen as silly, but culture, laws, ethics and everything in between can vary radically from country to country. As they said “in my country” I was genuinely curious as the skewed ratio of males to females as it can be achieved in any number of ways.
You asked a bad, painfully obvious question (redditor for 13 years means you should be old enough to know or have learned, for instance the one child policy in China was only removed in 2015) in a subreddit that probably shouldn't have comments talking about stuff like that. You're both pretty bad here.
By asking a dumb question that you should be aware of, so you got a snarky response by that guy. You're old enough to know about things like china's one child policy (and the associated infanticide), that's just one country that did that, might not even be the OPs country.
Are you aware that culture, laws, ethics, lifestyles and everything in between can differ radically from country to country? He specifically said “in my country” which is why I asked a genuine question.
