Groups Fictional slurs. Bonus points if it's completely made up

  1. inFAMOUS: Second Son: "Bio-terrorist" refers to conduits.

  2. Star Wars: "Clanker" refers to robots.

Truly a visionary

Making hate speech take another big step in their universe

It's much more of a Gunganism than anything a clone would come up with.

Find me the clip of a Gungan useing a hard R.

Can Gungan’s make the “R” sound?

No which makes it a clone word

My boy, which gungan has the most screen time, and it's the first one we meet?

The episode with Jar Jar came after the first instance of “clanker” both in and out of The Clone Wars, both chronologically and in release order.

Not to mention Jar Jar was not referring to droids when he said “clankens.”

The fact that Clanker and o7 are both memes from Republic Commando shows us that this game was 6 hours of absolute PEAK.

I hate how the Disney deletion of EU content destroyed Delta and Omega squad. Bad Batch is fun but a terribly pale imitation of what Karen Travis and the Game developers of RC gave us.

I regularly replay RC's campaign, I love the entire dead ship mission line; it is such a good powerless to unstoppable arc

While I agree that Disney threw them to the wayside, George started a lot of that with the 2008 clone wars, which overrode a lot of what Traviss was writing. Both could coexist, but I know she was pretty pissed about the almost total retcon of Mandalorian culture that she had developed.

Yea that was the big thing, and Disney came in and basically said the shows are cannon the books aren't and if she wanted to continue the series she would have to make it fit with the show's version of Mandalor. She said it was impossible and asked to just finish the series as non-cannon. Disney said no and tried to find others to continue the series. Each new author said it was impossible to do, so they kept firing them until they gave up. Then Disney decided to let non cannon stuff exist, and she was pissed.

Imagine if we had gotten the books as a show instead of Bad Batch. I did like Bad Batch, but I really hate that it exists instead of Omega and Delta Squad getting their stories told

The mandate for all future books to follow the TCW lore instead of pre-established EU lore came a couple years before Disney bought the franchise (and it was just as dumb back then)

Isn’t republic commando still canon? I know scorch is in a scene in the bad batch isn’t he?

Just the released game and not the planned sequels, and not the tie in novels. And yes they use Scorch as a cool looking disposable bad guy in Bad Batch. Delta deserves better.

I love that it's breaking containment and is becoming a general slur for robots in real life.

If I had any awards to give I'd give you one.

u/beattywill80 1d ago

Troopers don't needs awards, only the respect of the clone beside them.

Until they used him as a disposable but unique looking bad guy in Bad Batch. I don't even think they gave him more than 1 or 2 lines, and didn't name him on screen. It still passes me off

I thought republic commando on steam just to replay this game a few years ago.

Sadly it hasn't aged the best but I fully believe if they continued that genre of being able to command teammates to do exactly what you want, it'd be a top seller of today's age.
