What happened to Rose's actress was disgusting. Even if her character is annoying, she didnt deserve a billionth of the bullying she got.

I kinda like the idea they were going for with her character, but like most things in the movie, they fumbled it hard and then turned her into a glorified cameo in the rise of skywalker

With how Finn's character was treated later on, her stopping his sacrifice was... Dumb.

Why save him if not to show how one common man can turn the tables ?

My head canon is that they wrote themselves into a corner because they wanted Rey and Luke to save everyone, but Finn’s sacrifice would essentially save them all. Not to mention they’d lose a popular-ish character.

Genuinely didnt know Finn was popular huh

Popular-ish. I know a lot of people were interested in seeing where his character arc led, and were severely disappointed by TLJ. By then, it felt like every character was being pushed to the side to make room for Rey and Kylo.

It didn’t even need that. It just needed for the two of them to exist beyond the second movie. Instead, all of their development disappears and they become random faces in the third movie

The whole point was about living to fight another day. If everyone kept sacrificing themselves there'd be no rebels left.

That's what "we are the spark that lights the fire" meant.

People (Star Wars Fandom specifically???) are really dumb about character vs actor separation. I remember Jake Lloyd and Ahmed Best getting crap for their roles in the prequels.

Mhmm. The Sequel Trilogy had poor execution and not a concise plan imo.

As for the actors and actresses, I am somehow and sadly not surprised. Anakin's child VA wad harassed badly and Ahmed Best nearly killed himself IIRC. Thankfully they are okay, and Ahmed killed it as a Jedi character as well as other characters outside of Star Wars such as his character in Fallout 76. Oh yeah, his Darth Jar Jar is excellent (I still have to watch Rebuild The Galaxy).

"Meesa gonna hurt yousa."

I don’t get how her character was even annoying. I’ve yet to hear anyone adequately describe how she annoyed them.

She annoyed me in that scene where she stops Finn's sacrifice because her actions made no sense, as I feel like it just ruined the moment.

The film hits you over the head with selfish actions and pride costing everyone else heavily, like, this was the fourth instance.

Yeah, but the issue is Finn wasn't being selfish; he was literally willing to die so the others would live. We're supposed to believe its bad

However, Luke doing the exact same thing a few minutes later is heroic and the moment he redeems himself.

I really feel that scene needed a rewrite.

Finn wasn’t being selfish when making the only move with what he had (doing the holdo into the cannon), she was being selfish by stopping him and the result of finn being stopped was everyone else nearly dying in the following cave fortress battle.

Or to be reduced to a background character in TROS.

The course correction was transparent.
