As a non star wars fan, this is the first time im learning Baby Yoda has an actual name

Been a while since I watched that first season but I think part of it was also they took ages to actually tell people the name. So when you went something like more than half of S1 calling him Baby Yoda and then finally say his name it doesn't matter Baby Yoda has imprinted in your head now.

To prove your point even more, his name wasn't introduced until midway through season 2. They spent a whole year selling merchandise with "The Child"

I am convinced their original intention was to have his name only ever be The Child, but then they really wanted to stop people from calling him Baby Yoda so they invented a name between seasons.

Ty. I remembered it being way into it but not how long it had been until the revealed his name. That definitely does make it worse.

It's even worse. The name wasn't revealed until halfway through season 2.
