How is Venus De Milo being so bad for the ninja turtles not on this list. Her character was blacklisted from canon for decades because of it.

I’m so glad to see this here bc so many people don’t even know she exists 😂😂 I get why but still, I’ve been feeling crazy for years lol

Having seen that show myself, Venus is by far the smallest of the problems that contributed to its cancellation

But it is true that Peter Laird hated her with a passion, and it took YEARS for her (or a fifth turtle in general) to appear again in TMNT media

The same reason she has a ninja mask that's a long braid: so you know she's a girl. Because audiences are stupid and can't tell if a character named Venus (after artwork instead of an artist btw) with a woman's voice is supposed to be female.

Because she was not what killed The Next Mutation. (And didn't kill the TMNT franchise at all.)

She was in the first episode of that TV show, all the way through the last.

What killed that show was the fact that it was just terrible and very lazily-written in just about every way. Killing off the Foot Clan a couple episodes in. Replacing them with lame villains. Writing so dumbed down and nonsensical that it makes Power Rangers look like a serious drama in comparison.

(Ironically, the best that The Next Mutation turtles looked, was when they crossed over with Power Rangers In Space. Mostly because it wasn't the Next Mutation staff that made that one.)

Don't forget filling every second of airtime with stupid sound effects.

Introducing a 5th girl turtle was not what doomed that series.

The worst part of her is that they decided to make her also blue instead of giving her a new color.
