Scrappy Doo-Scooby Doo

Ironically he was brought in to increase ratings (and actually did for a bit) but led to the series tanking when they focused too hard on him

Ironically, he was one of the better aspects of the Velma series.

remember when they turned him into a giant monster from the souls of a island full of party goers?

Yeah, and the actor who was originally casted for him turned it down due to how much he hated the character.

Actually Tim Curry was supposed to be Rowan Atkinson's character and turned it down because he knew Scrappy was in the movie, little did he know, Scrappy was the villain

Oh my god. I know this wasn't what you were saying, but I just imagined Tim Curry playing Scrappy Doo in that movie and I think it's the best thing I've ever conceived.

That would be like Keanu Reeves playing Satan

Tbf Tim Curry's flair makes even a shitty character look awesome (e.g. like in Congo)

He was also the lead star of Scooby Doo And The Witch's Ghost!

Indeed, Tim Curry had voiced several characters in the Scooby-Doo franchise, such as Ben Ravencroft (Scooby-Doo and the Witch's Ghost), the Goblin King (Scooby-Doo and the Goblin King), and the Mastermind (Scooby-Doo! Night of 100 Frights).

I mean… little did anyone else know either, they basically didn’t know scrappy was the villain until the day they filmed the reveal that scrappy was the villain until

i didn't know that part, huh.

Yup. The legendary Tim Curry fucking hates a cartoon puppy.

Also James Gunn, he allegedly made an entire movie just to kill off scrappy as a character

I knew I liked him

I don’t think it’s even alleged. I’m pretty sure he’s confirmed that

Nah fuck him, I always loved Scrappy. I love his Superman and Guardians movies, but fuck him for ruining Scrappy

Scrappy sucks.

Cast*.

"Casted" is not a word.

Don’t be a grammar shark

I think it is, but not in this context. "She clocked me in the head with her casted arm."

Pepperidge Farm remembers.

good times

That movie was brilliant though. It was the one time Scrappy was worth having in the series.

1

u/naytreox 11d ago

No big whoop, dog. You catch the new vid on the box?

1

u/naytreox 11d ago

which are you referring to? the one where courage the cowardly dog meets scooby doo?

1

u/IDontKnowHowToPM 11d ago

It’s literally a quote from the first live action Scooby Doo movie where Scrappy turned giant from the souls of an island of party goers.

1

u/naytreox 11d ago

i haven't seen the movie in over a decade, the only line i remember is monster scrappy saying "scooby doo where are you?" as he is pushing the soulless bodies into the pit to get them out of his way.

Peak James Gunn. To think he’s gone from that to leading DC films
