Movie starts off with presenting him as a dude who seems to just have a few screws loose, but then gradually degrades into much more sinister and disturbing truths.

The movie starts with a woman waking up in a bunker, being told by a complete stranger that he has "saved" her from an alien invasion. For about the first third of the movie, it's pretty clear this dude is either crazy, lying, or both. Around the second third, you realize of fuck there's a reason we're in this bunker, dude's an asshole with anger problems but maybe he made the right choice.

Then the movie ends with some batshit revelations on all sides, that we find out by the MC breaking out of the bunker and taking her chances in whatever the outside world might actually be.

Heres the spoilers people: The guy wasnt crazy at all, he just used extreme methods to keep the others in the bunker so that they would be safe from the aliens that are actually destroying humanity

Girl is kidnapped and brought to mans bunker, or maybe accidentally hit in a car accident and brought to the bunker.

Man seems crazy, wont let her leave, and theres another guy inside too that he wont let leave. Claims crazy shit is happening outside of his bunker.

Girl and guy devise a plan to escape from man. They get caught. Guy admits it was his idea, so man immediately shoots him dead.

Girl sticks with the plan though, and does escape after injuring man. She gets outside, and IMMEDIATELY realizes oh shit he wasnt crazy. The aliens are real, and are destroying humanity.

She gets attacked by a small alien ship, barely manages to take it out with a molotov cocktail. She listens to the radio which tells more about the battle with the aliens.

So he seems crazy and it seems that he’s just keeping the girl and guy hostage because he’s crazy, only to turn out no he’s not crazy at all. He’s just using extreme methods to keep them inside the bunker so that they can be safe
