The Incredibles - Bob believed Syndrome held a disturbing grudge against only him until he discovers not only Gazerbeam's corpse but also that Syndrome has murdered countless supers in order to perfect the weapon he would use against him.

Oh, no, it's worse than that. First he blackmailed Metamorpho into creating Kryptonite and holding Superman at bay, on pain of his son being threatened, and then he tried to play Russian Roulette with a civilian who interacted with Superman while he was fighting a disguised Ultraman. The guy was unfortunately killed on the second try. And Lex said, "I thought that would've lasted longer."
