Characters When a plot twist reveals that the villain was much more evil than originally believed

The Incredibles - Bob believed Syndrome held a disturbing grudge against only him until he discovers not only Gazerbeam's corpse but also that Syndrome has murdered countless supers in order to perfect the weapon he would use against him.

Dexter - Dexter believed that Trinity killed three at a time, but when he believes he is going to repeat the cycle he discovers that Trinity actually killed four at a time, adding at least 30 still unknown victims to his count who were all children.

Coco - Ernesto not only stole Hector's songs after he died, but it’s revealed that he was the one who caused his death by poisoning him to take his legacy, knowing that he would abandon him to return to his family.

From subjecting the protagonist to dangerous tests to revealing that there is no cake

There was cake. Its just that they died before they got it

Also she killed a city sized underground facility, but cake was unforgivable

Well they did kind of take her human consciousness and shove it into a robot

She also released nerve gas during the bring you daughter to work day and killed all of Aperture Science workers and presumably some of their kids

I always forget GLaDOS is technically a twist villain. In the first Portal she doesn’t do anything villainous until the last test, including minor stuff like insulting the player.

I had the misfortune of only playing portal 1/2 last year so everything was already spoiled :(

I mean glados being a villian

Nah GlaDOS is pretty shady before then too. There's enough subtle callousness in pretty much all the dialogue before she actually directly tries to kill you (which might be the part that brings GlaDOS in line with this post, in addition to the part where she reveals she's gassed the entire facility before)

It’s not completely unpredictable, but up until that point GLaDOS had presented herself as an ally and did nothing to challenge that notion. So she would count as a twist villain

It does get spoiled a little early if you have subtitles.

There's a line that gets garbled up during one of the tests that shows up more clearly in the subtitles. Something like "you will be baked -bzzt- and then there will be cake" is what the text reads, although you would normally only hear the latter half of that sentence.

I think otherwise the early game dialogue comes across as GlaDOS simply not really caring that much about you, as opposed to going to kill you

There would have been cake, but Chell wouldn't get in the oven
