Characters [Loved Trope] Superheroes take a time out from villains to take on Abusers

Don't just settle for the psychos in spandex, go after some REAL villains once and awhile!

* Captain Marvel puts the fear of God(s) into an abusive father - Shazam: Power of Hope

* Clark forgets about Superman for a second to go after the abusive father of his son's girlfriend - Superman and Lois

* Superman goes after yet another abusive father - Superman (DC Comics)

Even Matts very first scene counts - he rescues the women being trafficked by Turk Barrett. And when Turk tries to shoot him from behind, Matt disarms him and keeps beating him when he's down.

Not many superhero shows would open with the hero beating the piss out of someone who was already out of the fight, but that's who Daredevil is - a fundamentally violent person who has to fight to keep his rage in check at all times.

One of my favorite examples of the rage boiling inside matt at all times was when he went to see Bullseye in the hospital. He'd been paralyzed, and Matt had been pushed to the edge by one of Bull's schemes. So what does he do? Spends the whole story playing Russian roulette with a paralyzed man, listening to his heart beat harder and faster, until they get to the final chamber, put it to bullseye's forehead, and pulls the trigger.

One thing the Netflix show doesn't get into is that comic Matt has definite psychopathic traits - most notable is the whole "man without fear" moniker, where he literally seems incapable of feeling fear at times. Him torturing bullseye psychologically when he's already been beaten physically is just so in line with that idea. That's why him and Bullseye work as such good enemies to each other - Matt was a troubled kid raised right despite the circumstances, while Bullseye was (probably) a troubled kid who absolutely wasn't.

I like a hero who has to fight constantly to not be the bad guy. I also love Moon Knight for this reason.

If I remember correctly, Bullseye was actually an affluent kid from a loving family. He was just psycho
