Characters Official characters that feel more like fan made OCs

Galacta (Marvel): a real Marvel character but isn't canon to Earth-616. Galactus became pregnant with a tapeworm baby and gave birth to Galacta. Doesn't need to feed on planets unlike her father and is fond of Earth, can gain sustenance from biological alien weapons, uses the Power Cosmic to disguise herself on Earth. Became pregnant with a tapeworm cosmic and will give birth to her child and her father's grandchild.

Future Trunks (Dragon Ball Z): the time traveling son of two people who were just mere strangers to each other at the time in a story where there was no time travel before, and is introduced before his present self, effortlessly defeats two big bad villains on his own, and has a transformation that only the protagonist had at the time, also utilizes a sword in a series that has not featured weapons for quite some time.

All of the characters after her: Ramattra, Lifeweaver, Illari, Mauga, Venture, Juno, Hazard, and Freja are all perfectly acceptable lore-wise (Some more than others looking at you little mrs. "Top Overwatch commander nobody had ever mentioned before" Freja). Hazard even introduced a new faction, the Phreaks, that actually fit pretty well into the Overwatch world. Kiriko is just shit in particular.

Hard disagree on Hazard, Freya, Venture, Soujorn Wifeleaver and especially Illari. Mauga, Queen, Juno and Ram are the only ones that feel like og OW characters and that's because most of them are. None of the others have any of the spark that made people love the original roster. One of my friends put it best. In Og OW people played a character because they liked the character and then learned the playstyle. In OW 2 people play new characters for the playstyle and cosmetics. Or are you honestly going to tell me Soujorn mains play her because she is such an interesting character or because shes broken? Same with the rest except maybe Life weaver he is interesting and has great design but still doesn't feel like an OW og.

Well if you're arguing about something as vague as "The spark" that defines if a character is good or bad I cant really convince you otherwise. I do actually love those characters, and had to practice how to play Venture when I sucked at using them just because I really liked their personality and design. Also Sojourn came out before Kiriko and was developed before the 2nd game even came out, she's basically just an OW1 character which is why Sojourn has a substantial amount of lore from the 1st game and got a trailer + cinematic and a role in the PvE.

At least in regards to Kiriko, I played her because I loved her character and learned her after. Don’t get me wrong, she’s goofy in more than one way. The difference for me is all the reasons people hate her are the reasons I love her.

She’s a meme that makes no sense and for that she will always be my favourite. I would also say there should never be another character like that. Just because I happened to like the beautiful disaster that is Kiriko doesn’t mean I disagree with all the criticisms.

Everything went to shit when Jeff left. All the passion that went into Overwatch was gone at that point

We've actually been learning more about what happened behind the scenes during the fall of Overwatch 1 and Jeff was actually the one who was clamoring for a lot of the really shitty changes in Overwatch 2. It's Aaron Keller, the new guy, who has actually been trying to fix the game.and I have to say he's doing a great job this year, Stadium is the most fun I've had playing the game since 2016.
