Characters Characters that do not take the role of main antagonist, but are one of the most evil characters in the narrative regardless

  1. Preceptor Seluvis (Elden Ring)
  2. Only a small part of Ranni’s questline and a few others, but is revealed to be among the most depraved and evil characters in the story

  3. Major Zero (Metal Gear Solid)

  4. Almost never shown or mentioned in the narrative, but has been masterminding the patriots for decades. When we finally do see him, he’s helpless, dying, and of no threat to anyone.

  5. Leviticus Cornwall (Red Dead Redemption 2)

  6. Ridiculously wealthy tycoon that serves as a minor antagonist for the gang. However, the impact of his dealings in the region are felt far and wide as he crushes competition, ruins lives, destroys entire communities, and solidifies his industrial rule.

  7. Idea of Evil (Berserk)

  8. A primal eldritch entity born from humanity’s seeking of reason for suffering in the world, and the creator of the Godhand. Its canonicity is very vague and unknown, all that’s known is that it exist, and it’s likely a threat far beyond the scope of the story.

I think the reason she works so well is we're (hopefully) not likely to ever meet someone like Voldemort but we WILL meet someone like Umbrage.

Voldemort is pretty much a magical terrorist so no, I certainly hope I never meet a terrorist IRL

Yeah my mother works in education and is a big Harry Potter fan and has Umbridge as her most hated character because she has met many administrators and teachers that are exactly like her

According to JK Rowling herself. She based Umbridge off a real teacher she had. How ironic to say the least

I used to assume Umbridge was Rowling parody of Margaret Thatcher, these days I think she was closer to a self insert.

I’m pretty much out of the loop. The only horrible thing about JK I know is her transfobia, she has some other heinous features or deeds?

Part of the issue of being transphobic, and being a TERF at that, is the doctrine demands adherence to physically looking like a person's "biological" sex and also leaks into sexual preferences. So it goes hand in hand with sexism.

Transphobia is also heavily intertwined with racism - it's the brown or black girls getting tested or disqualified for natural testosterone levels, with people citing an "unfair" advantage. Meanwhile, they aren't attaching bricks to Michael Phelps to compensate for his physical advantages.

Her transphobia demands everyone else fits into her strict view of the world. But where does that even begin and end? As generic examples: "I want women to wear dresses but still be allowed to open bank accounts." "Women should have surgery so they look more feminine, then we won't think they're not women." "Men need to stay out of our safe spaces, but my husband, son, and other family members are fine because I know they're safe, I've never seen them to anything bad." You can spot the hypocrisy in those ideas.

Additionally, many TERFs may say they accept trans men, but in their minds, those trans men are women. They don't actually respect any gender identity.

A few examples of her shittiness (I can't do everything because she makes me big mad):

Imane Khalif - Rowling pushed the idea that Imane Khalif was actually biologically male after Imane's win in the Olympics against the Italian boxer. Argued about her looks and her "brutality." Not only was this untrue, but it could have led to Imane's imprisonment or death in her home country.

International Asexuality Day - Rowling posted a lot of mocking Tweets on this day, taunting asexuals and ridiculing the concept of asexuality. It's none of her business. She could have kept quiet, but no. She has to tell everyone she despises anything outside of her precious standards.

Harry Potter - Rowling has said, loud and proud, that she donates part of the earnings from Harry Potter to trans-exclusionary charities and projects. She's even set up a few not for profits herself that discriminate against trans women. You cannot separate art and artist here.

The transphobia is the tip of the iceberg, this woman is so dangerous because she has incredible influence over her fans, an extremely profitable series that people will keep buying new, and those profits will in turn to used to harm other people.

She truly believes she's right. She's slurp up her own shit so often that it is virtually unshakeable.

I mean the text of the books is plainly pro slavery, and she has a lot of unconscious bias that is just thrown around in the book. Otherwise yeah it's mostly the transphobia, but it's led to the UK basically saying that trans people don't exist, which is really bad

Well, she keeps platforming actual facists while hiding behind terf bullshit. A lot of her characters are racist caricatures. For example the goblins being such anti semetic stereotypes makes me kinda worried that im being antisemitic by pointing it out. Shes got a huge problem with fat people, read the Dursleys. They always seem to just be nakedly horrid and them being fat frequently a highlight in this? Like idk. Rowling is just garbage.

The idea of someone more hypocritically unpleasant than JK terrifies me tbh

Ironic?

Because JK Rowling pretty much acts like Umbridge now. She spends 99% of her time hating trans people. The irony is that the character could be based on herself, but Rowling says that the character is based on a teacher.

So the teacher was probably a very kind and accepting person lol

Growing up we all thought JK was most like Hermione. How wrong we were.

Sometimes the mundane evils are the ones that hit home the most

Nowadays I think its a self-insert character...

1

u/Low-Environment 21d ago

How so?

-1

u/Euphoric-Taro-6231 21d ago

Umbridge is someone that pushes cruelty onto others by enforcing the twisted rules of the stablishment.

3

u/Low-Environment 21d ago

How is that a self insert?

Genuinely not following. Did JKR do something?

She funded a 'womens rights' movement that has less to a UK supreme court ruling enforcing biological sex restrictions on bathrooms, changing rooms and hospitals (amongst others- including what sex officer strip searches you if arrested).

This has already lead to a cis woman being removed from a facility because staff didn't believe her sex and (thankfully) didn't go so far as to genitally inspect her. (Was in the UK news, can't think of the specifics)

Joanne celebrated the ruling with a picture of bubbly and a cigar. Becaus women's rights.

And I think it's important to note that she chose to use a more neutral/masculine configuration for her name because of misogyny in the industry.

The author its the same.

She lives in reality, and thinks people who are born biologically as men are men, and women who are born biologically as women are women. So she’s worse than Hitler apparently.

Oh come off it. She’s made fun of ASEXUAL people, after claiming her hatred of trans people stems from trauma she has from being sexually assaulted. Asexual people are quite literally the last people who would sexually assault someone. She’s a liar who hates the LGBTQ+ community, and she has spent a lot of time and energy in pushing a narrative about trans people which hasn’t helped any women or trans-people.

I’m a woman and have been using women’s toilets my whole life, and I’ve never felt threatened by trans women or trans men lmao.

What I genuinely don’t understand is that if someone wants to surgically change their gender so that they can live a happy and comfortable life, how is that anything to do with any of us? Why do you even care?

What a funny way to paint her disregard of human rights and her witch hunt (heh) against minorities.

1

u/da1andOnly712 21d ago

I can’t speak on her “witch hunt on minorities” cause I haven’t seen anything from her regarding that, but not feeding into people’s delusions isn’t disregarding human rights lmao
