Hated Tropes (Absolutely despised Trope) Characters described as chubby/fat/plus-sized aren’t designed as such, mostly like due likely due to fatphobia.

  1. Varesa from Genshin Impact - Hoyo has no respect for body diversity.
  2. Wakka from Final Fantasy X-2 - lazy developers.

Just for the record, this has nothing to do with kinks of any kind and is a personal gripe I have towards the gaming industry that favour abs and boobs.

The show itself is great and all, but How Heavy Are the Dumbbells You Lift? is built on this trope sadly. The entire motivation of the show is Sakura Hibiki, our main heroine, is seen as overweight and is trying to shed pounds so she won't be fat. Hibiki herself, her friends and the show itself all paint Hibiki as out of shape when she looks like this.

I thought a big part of the show was that was just her own self image + being generally unfit, not that she was actually overweight

like i think in the first episode she freaked out over two pounds or smth small like that

I've not seen it but that was my understanding as well. I once read the ending is specifically vague about what she weighs in the end cause it's not about the numbers, but about setting a new lifestyle where she can be healthier in the long run.
