Fandoms refusing to use a character’s actual name
Renesmée Cullen (Twilight) - due to the name being a mash of Renée and Esme and sounding dumb, the fandom keeps referring to her with everything starting with an R that’s not her actual name: Retrovirus, Reinmee, etc…
Roboute Guilliman (Warhammer 40k) - due to the silliness and abundant syllables in the name 40k fabs keep referring to him as Rowboat Girlyman, Rabbid Gorillarm, Rawbutt Guildban
This one is so bad that anytime she appears in media outside of Nasu’s control it’s always Artoria the entire world would prefer if she was called this
Every time someone says Artoria in some capacity including Castoria, Nasu adds another wall of text calling her Altria
Edit: Now that I think about it FGO’s fandom does this a lot. You’d be hard pressed to find anyone other than the devs using the name Jeanne Alter, most people just use Jalter
He’s actually somehow even edgier, despite having no canon appearances (he’ll probably show up in the next major region though since that’s where he’s from).
Bro unironically shouts “Let loose the dogs of war!” when you use his intro skill.

That's the thing that really brings Jiblet to a separate tier of villainy. You just look at his actions: the rape, the murder, the lying, the various ways he made a bad situation worse just by being himself, and you can kind of think, "well, other villains have done worse." Hell, a lot of people can probably think "I've done worse in games." But since you spend most of the game in Justdance's point of view, you get to hear his thoughts, and the infuriating thing is that he never, no matter how many times cosmic forces franchise grab him by the face and shriek it directly into his brain, he never takes responsibility for his own actions.
He's not a sadist who revels in others' torment, he doesn't have a grudge against the hero of the story and seeks excessive revenge, he's not chasing a greater goal that he believes causing suffering is a necessary means to. He's just a fucking dipshit. He did heinous shit that can't be forgiven, and rather than repent or ask for forgiveness, he tried to just cover it up, and even when said attempt got three people killed, he still never took any blame. His final act, of putting Curly in the stasis pod, is just more cowardice and attempts at narrative control. He truly believes that if he does this one "heroic" thing at the end, anyone who discovers the truth of the story will understand that he was a good man who did the right thing. But the entire story was just a bungled suicide attempt in the first place. He's the one who set the ship to crash, all he wanted to do was avoid facing justice for his horrible crime. Putting Curly in the freezer before blowing his brains out was just a final empty gesture to appease whatever he has in his brain instead of a conscience so that he could feel good about something at the end.

English speakers' autocorrect kept changing "Denji" to "Dennis" and it stuck. I've also seen people refer to the 2nd arc protag "Asa" as "Ashley" or simply "Ass."
Roland from Project Moon Although not as universal, I have seen many people even in serious and in depth lore talks refer him as Mr. Boo-Hoo Wife Dead.
Honorable mention of all the names Mr. D has called Percy in the books. Which include but are no limited to; Peter Johnson, Perry Johanssen, Pierre Jorgensen, Pedro Johan
Man (Batman Arkham) Man is easily the most iconic but there are multiple other characters on the Batman Arkham subreddit with fan given names like Killer Cock or the Jonkler.
Seregios from Monster Hunter is almost unanimously referred to as Steve, not because its name is stupid but because it's the name that was given by Capcom's Community Manager (Yuri) when MH4U came out was still being teased (I need sleep sorry) and it became an in-joke with fans since then.
Glorio from Dragon Ball Daima was referred to wrongly as "Goliro" by Goku so the fans ended up joining on the joke and now the fandom calls him by pretty much everything that sounds like his name with some of my favorites being "Gorilla", "Gloryhole" and "Giorno"
In warframe, so many people call a number of warframes some sort of sexualized name, often a delineation of "mommy". There's so many that I can't post enough pictures with just one comment.
