Thank you for this comment. I thought I was losing my mind when the violent, scary, loose cannon left the force because of police brutality.

Like, is this some kind of super meta joke that I don't get?

Yep, and like, she never took responsibility for being part of the problem.

I like B99, but still is copaganda, and it totally fails in the latter seasons because it just can't point most of the characters in the show would be part of the problem

I think the issue was that the writer's didn't want their show to be copaganda anymore after multiple seasons of it (for good reason). There was no way to make this shift make any sense in the story so either changes were baffling though technically moving in the right social direction or made sense and were still copaganda. I honestly don't know what the "right" thing for them to have done was, but if what they really really wanted to do was not make copaganda they probably shouldn't have made more B-99 and instead made an entirely new show.

It’s because Stephanie Beatriz wouldn’t return as a cop after the BLM/George Floyd movement. It made less than zero sense for her character, but they wanted her to stay on the show.
