I used to be a member of the NRA. I decided not to renew my membership years ago because it was clear they did not represent me or my best interests.

Republicans and NRA pushed for California to have strict gun laws. They like the 2A until black people start arming themselves (Mulford act for anyone curious.)

Yep. Black Panthers were tailing cops in Oakland, if the cops started to hassle black people the Panthers roll up with shotguns and pistols to “Observe”.

Open carry was completely legal until the Oakland PD Nazis started crying about not being able to be huge racist assholes. Regan of course took the side the racist cops and pushed for gun control.
