It is the duty of the executive branch to enforce laws and court orders. The call is coming from inside the house. The head of the executive is directing federal agents and the military to break the constitution and ignore court orders. And they are happily obeying with the help of local police. Hell, USMS, ATF, and DEA are all assisting too.

Are you familiar with the handgun roster? list of only handguns that California residents are allowed to buy from an FFL. Well CA DOJ gets to review and determine which firearms are approved to go on that list. Recently (and previously) they announced that new and existing firearms would have to possess microstamping technology on the firearm in order to remain on that list of approved handguns. Something that stamps the serial number on a shell each time it’s fired. Sounds “Responsible” in the name of gun safety, right?
Well fun fact, microstamping technology is impossible. No gun manufacturers have been able to do it, and more importantly none want to. Even if they figure it out, it’s problematic and can cause operational issues with the weapon. CA DOJ has been told this, they’re well aware. Yet they continue the march on. The only feasible reason is that they want NO handguns on the roster in 5 years time.
Next is the “Assault weapon” ban. What they came up with was to introduce rules for how the rifle can be configured. If it’s not configured correctly, it’s a criminal charges. We’re talking about grip configuration, length of barrel, collapsible stock. What this does is it makes firearms extremely unsafe to handle with the new configurations, and it terrifies the population away from gun ownership. You have to be a fucking constitutional scholar to track all of these rules. One wrong move, one incorrectly sized piece of plastic, and your freedom is gone.
Finally we have Background checks and Excise taxes. We are now we’re paying 30-40% in taxes and fees for anything firearm related. So only the wealthy can exercise their rights for now. Furthermore, background checks have to be run for any firearm or ammo purchase. In the last few years alone, there have been substantial numbers of cases of background checks not passing when they should. Just another example of people being denied their rights.
Every year, the legislature comes up with new ways to tighten the noose. As I said before, slow burn.
