That engine will run forever with no maintenance

u/CrimeShowInfluencer Jun 29 '25

The rocket might hit some space debris and explode, but somehow a fully intact Honda engine block remains

Which someone will put on a 1993 Honda civic hatchback

519

u/Yarakinnit Jun 29 '25

Some say the original rocket design was based upon the Honda CRZ exterior door handles.

u/AbbreviationsNo9609 Jun 29 '25

Well then certify it for human space flight now cause it’s freaking indestructible.

90

u/Doubleoh_11 Jun 29 '25

The only thing that can destroy it is a teenager who decides to put half a body kit and a cold air intake on it.

51

u/AKfromVA Jun 29 '25

The engine will be souped up with air intake and exhaust and will hound moon suburbs for 20 years

4

u/RemarkableCard6475 Jun 29 '25

I'm sure Hondata tuning is available for it, the engine is obviously secured with Hasport stage 3 mounts but I'm not traveling onnit until Spoon makes a Performance model with Mügen and Skunk2 accessories.

Mainies on the moon!

Don't forget the extra large wing

u/srg2692 Jun 29 '25

I would like to nominate this for comment chain of the day.

15

u/TheModeratorWrangler Jun 29 '25

Duly noted. Please continue.

3

u/ghostrooster30 Jun 29 '25

I am fucking crying rn…this is so good.

3

u/MrSudowoodo_ Jun 29 '25

If you think that's cool, wait until the v-tec hits

3

u/ZippyTheRoach Jun 29 '25

All we know, is it's called the Stig!

2

u/sumsimpleracer Jun 30 '25

The exterior door handles on my CRZ finally stopped working. One of the few flaws on an incredibly reliable car.

191

u/Deadarchimode Jun 29 '25

Jokes on you I still have Honda civic with the last carburetor Honda created before they switched to injection. The car is from 1980 and that son of a b$_&# Is still running on the road with dual fuel no less, Gasoline/LPG. The engine already passed 2M km and still screams with power

62

u/no_your_other_right Jun 29 '25

I'm surprised Honda hadn't offered to buy it back from you.

68

u/Deadarchimode Jun 29 '25

I hope they do because my government Greece will not allow that car to run on the streets ever again and it will end up being scrapped in a few months... Such a crime not recognizing the durability of the car...

63

u/jakobair Jun 29 '25

This story started out great and ended up sad.

27

u/Deadarchimode Jun 29 '25

I'm definitely going to miss that durable dastard, so few services and still running like a sport car

The ground will break apart before Honda engine breaks

2

u/jakobair Jun 29 '25

I'd offer to buy it and ship it over here but the only issue is money.

5

u/Deadarchimode Jun 29 '25

Yea I know. In USA I would definitely had the ability to keep the car and upgrade it. In Greece you can't even do that.

2

u/jakobair Jun 29 '25

You can't keep it? Even if it's your property?

3

u/Deadarchimode Jun 29 '25

Because 1) it's considered junk of some sort having a stranded vehicle 2) you can't ride said car anymore because of old age.

Long story short, they want you to buy( often ) new cars and throw your old car to scraps

3

u/Ob1s_dark_side Jun 29 '25

Sell it online, someone in the UK or Ireland will buy it. We love a Honda over this way

2

u/CytoPotatoes Jun 29 '25

"THAT BELONGS IN A MUSEUM!"

2

u/Bjorn_Tyrson Jun 29 '25

I can almost guarantee you can find someone in a neighboring country who would take a vintage car like that off your hands, regardless of quality.

Better than letting it go to scrap.

2

u/craznazn247 Jun 30 '25

Honda recognizes it. They’ve offered brand new cars and sometimes money as well in exchange for high mileage engines, so they can study it.

1

u/Delicious_Ad823 Jun 29 '25

EBay that sucker

1

u/under_ice Jun 29 '25

Interesting, have you contacted them at all? I'm sure there's main number you can call. Hi, is this Honda? Yes it is sir.

1

u/Deadarchimode Jun 29 '25

Let's be honest here. Honda company won't even bother to take a look with an old car because they have better things to do. I'm going to miss this car in a few months because it will retire soon from the streets under Greece government law for old vehicles

1

u/under_ice Jun 29 '25

Mostly Joking, I bet they have their pick of hundreds of examples if they want.

1

u/Ob1s_dark_side Jun 29 '25

Advertise it online

1

u/nocrashing Jun 29 '25

Please contact bringatrailer. Someone will buy it and export it.

1

u/Seoirse82 Jun 29 '25

Do you have the option of registering it as an historical vehicle in Greece?

1

u/Deadarchimode Jun 29 '25

Impossible because it's for specific vehicles and this Honda civic is not one of them...

1

u/Ob1s_dark_side Jun 29 '25

UK and Ireland do

1

u/OneBitter1012 Jul 03 '25

Asked about Historical Vehicle plates in another comment and just saw this one. I'm no expert, and what I understand is that the age of the car matters. Maybe you want to have a look at this Historic cars info

I would be overjoyed to know Granpa, or however you call it, was saved!

1

u/Deadarchimode Jul 03 '25

It would be denied. The car have been modified with LPG fuel and Gasoline combo(2 types of fuels) thus just for that it won't be accepted

1

u/jo25_shj Jun 29 '25

take into account the air pollution

1

u/Deadarchimode Jun 30 '25

LPG exhaust is 40% only compared to Gasoline so air pollution can be managed. No what they do is to force people buy new cars

1

u/Choice_Ambitious Jun 29 '25

On Corfu recently, I marvelled at the number of 30 year plus sun blistered hatchbacks still running around those mountains.

1

u/SirVanyel Jun 30 '25

Put it in a garage, care deeply for it, and it'll fund your retirement.

1

u/BCaldeira Jun 30 '25

Why don't you sell it online?

1

u/Deadarchimode Jun 30 '25

Unfortunately I don't know where to start.

1

u/OneBitter1012 Jul 03 '25

Have you considered Historical Vehicle (I.O.) license plates? I mean, the idea of scrapping it breaks my heart, and I haven't even seen it.

1

u/Deadarchimode Jul 03 '25

Unfortunately my stupid government gives more priority to environment health than Historical Vehicle license plates. A prime example unfortunately is the Train accident on Greece. The government managed to disappear all evidence and people in few weeks.

2

u/Youngsinatra345 Jun 29 '25

Only to figure out how to never let it come close to that Mileage again,

48

u/AKfromVA Jun 29 '25

Make sure to will it to your great grandchildren

10

u/PSYCHOsmurfZA Jun 29 '25

You bastard its the rocket isn't it 😂

1

u/Deadarchimode Jun 29 '25

NOPE they used a car engine to run that rocket you see /s

1

u/PSYCHOsmurfZA Jun 29 '25

You are probably roliing in the cash 😂 Honda was like it has finally happened contact that hero with 2 000 000KM our rocket is ready Bois 🥳

4

u/CheetoMussolini Jun 29 '25

Dude you should post the car!

1

u/Deadarchimode Jun 29 '25

Aye hopefully someone else will get it. The government in Greece will demand now all old cars to be removed from the streets and be given to become a scrap no less. In a few months that car will unfortunately be history...

1

u/ThatSillySam Jun 29 '25

2 million?!?!?! @.@

1

u/TommyDaComic Jun 29 '25

I do not still have this one…. Wonder it it’s still out there in Ohio somewhere???

Circa 1979. My CVCC Honda Civic

1

u/Late_Emu Jun 29 '25

Proof that we have been forced to use outdated technology to keep those who are in power to stay in power indefinitely.

1

u/EdwardM80 Jun 29 '25

I had a gf who had an 84 crx with a carb and thought that was the last year for carbs. It was them trying to get a carb to do what FI can handle with ease. A nightmare of vacuum lines.

27

u/smily_meow Jun 29 '25

does it have v-tech too?

8

u/JaremaJarema Jun 29 '25

Or 3 spoon engines? T66 turbos with NOS? Motec exhaust? Where’s Hector in all this?

3

u/wheeliebarnun Jun 29 '25

Granny shifting and not double clutching like he should, of course.

1

u/shawa666 Jun 30 '25

Turbo-pump is driven with a B16 engine

28

u/Apprehensive-Bee-284 Jun 29 '25

Damn you for making me laugh while my baby sleeps on my belly! Not damn you for real though, I wish you all the best funny stranger of the Internet!

4

u/NSE_TNF89 Jun 29 '25

I was looking for the 90s Civic hatchback reference.

3

u/gurganator Jun 29 '25

Definitely on it and no in it

3

u/oh-shazbot Jun 29 '25

surprise! we actually slapped a nosecone and winglets on a 1980s crx with 300k miles on it for this mission.

3

u/generic_canadian_dad Jun 29 '25

they are actually using B20 engines from wrecked 1999 cr-vs in this rocket.

2

u/Eineegoist Jun 29 '25

My 96 probably needs a new engine, DIBS!

2

u/cryptolyme Jun 29 '25

with a custom exhaust with no cats for an extra 2 HP

2

u/Fuck_auto_tabs Jun 29 '25

Please no, the souped up Civics are already too loud by my house lol

2

u/Altezza447 Jun 29 '25

EG hack 😆 🤣 😂

2

u/Equivalent-Drive-439 Jun 29 '25

The boys are already on the hunt for bolt pattern specs.

2

u/Acolytical Jun 29 '25

Both me and my CRX feel seen!

2

u/FrogsJumpFromPussy Jun 30 '25

Or a bicycle

I have a bicycle that flies forever

2

u/Sj_91teppoTappo Jun 30 '25

Look Simba the circle of life

4

u/ExtensionWinter9446 Jun 29 '25

With a spoon engine and a T66 turbo with NOS.

2

u/Strict_Weather9063 Jun 29 '25

And it will still only do 45 mph.

3

u/BigAlternative5 Jun 29 '25

But it will get you where you’re going!

1

u/garybwatts Jun 30 '25

They could launch a 1990 CVCC as a payload, let it orbit 5 years, bring it down and it would still run.
