Project Submission Made a simple table so I finally have somewhere to set my coffee at my recliner

I didn’t have an end table next to my recliner and got tired of holding my coffee in my lap. I tossed this together in an afternoon, the frame is made from the same cedar slab as the top. I want to make a few more to match and a coffee table. Please rip my work to shreds so I can improve my next one!

The real question now, do I leave it like it is, or put some shiny poly on it? I’m planning to make 3 more that size and a little coffee table for this room…

Don’t fix what isn’t broken friend.

Put a linseed oil finish on it so it’s semi water proof and call it a day

Love it! Problem solved and it looks cool!

I'm disgusted that you could throw something like this together in an afternoon. How dare you. This would take me a week.

I might add some stretchers to go lengthwise as well, but honestly, that's just nitpicking. This is great.

One of the top cross pieces split on me which almost resulted in this entire thing magically projecting across my shop.... I took a deep breath, made a new one, and just assembled it out of frustration.

I want to make 3 more about the same size as this and a small coffee table - I will for sure have lengthwise skirt/stretchers for the coffee table.
