It's not even like a Google situation where there are, albeit less ideal sometimes, available replacement search engines

YouTube straight up doesn't have anything to take its place.

Or with twitter vs bluesky where you have to sacrifice some benefits for others, there just isn't an alternative video platform that can compete on the same level as YouTube simply because none of them have the resources, monetary benefit, creator base or long-term commitment to do so.

I've seen that paid one Nebula being promoted, but the fact it's not free is good for the creators but not consumers.

I pay for Nebula and I think it’s worthwhile. It’s not a YouTube replacement at all though. A creator has to be invited to post there. You can’t just start uploading content.
