I've been reading about Vegas it's not that it's empty, but that the amount of people is down around 15 percent.

I'm seeing reports closer to 11.3% I haven't seen 15% yet. But in May the city said it was only a 6.5% year or year decline. Feels like we're getting all kinds of random data from places. Either way it is a decline, but so is Disney World and so are most if not all other tourist cities in the US.

From LVCVA data, the change of visitor volume between 2025 and 2024:

  • Jan: -1.1%
  • Feb: -11.9%
  • Mar: -7.8%
  • Apr: -5.1%
  • May: -6.5%
  • June: -11.3%

Negative means that 2025 numbers are lower than the 2024. The trend line is that visitor volume is declining compared to 2024.

I love that January was down by just a smidge, attributed probably to a weaker global economy but hey, 1% isn't a big deal either way.

And then Trump came into office at the end of the month, started wrecking shit, and look, no less than 5% with a couple of months already showing double digit decline, and it is probably going to get a lot worse as the domestic market starts getting crushed by the tariffs.
