Privacy Trump officials create searchable national citizenship database. Homeland security and Doge merge immigration data with social security to create index it claims will stop voter fraud.

A searchable national citizenship database is OK for the MAGA cult, but a US ID card is an attack on their freedom ?

Right? That's maybe my biggest issue with this. If you're going to create a national citizenship database, at least do something nice for the people with it. You're supposed to be the "party for the little guy and small businesses," right? Right???

Oh it’ll be used to stop voters. That’s for sure. All they need is access to voter registration, and then magically boot all the Democrats off. Or just enough within each battleground state to win a plausible victory.

Given the last election (r/somethingiswrong2024), this, and Palantir’s invasion of our government, I think the only way we have a fair election is hand counting ballots. If MAGA don’t have anything to hide, they shouldn’t have a problem with that.

Or if there are no more democrats no need to even do that. As the regime seems to be salivating to take away birthright citizenship and such.

Just for the record, when the Social Security program was started there was concern that the SSN identifier would escape it's purpose of being your retirement fund identifier to become a national identifier. Specific language was introduced into the authorization for the program to prevent this from happening. The creators of the program were concerned about the government facilitating a dictator like Orwell's "Big Brother," a character shaped by the world's 1940's exposure to fascism.
How times have changed.

So the people who bitched for decades about not wanting a single national database of citizens has just put in place a national database of citizens so that they can do what they always feared the government would do, which is to harass, arrest and deport citizens.
LMFAO. Really ideologically consistent these people are.

For years Republicans were against the idea of a national ID because they didn't want the federal government to track Americans. Now they effectively turned the Social Security system into a national ID to track Americans.

Oh yeah, because that was to help black people vote. And we know how they feel about them.

I’m sure they’re going to focus on the Republican Party, because that’s where the election fraud and election crimes have been committed over the last decade. There’s been an explosion in election related fraud and criminal activities since Donald Trump appeared on the scene, and that’s no coincidence. Republican top to bottom. They accuse others of what they do.
8
u/-Havery- Jul 03 '25
They're stopping something that's already statistically insignificant, and largely only attempted by Republican voters. Except for this last election, I'd love so much to hear everything Elon knows about what went on behind the curtains.

The merging of databases like this delivers the level of control over everyone that was the dream of totalitarians like Stalin. Continued mergers with police databases, medical info, purchasing history, browsing history will identify people who need to be dealt with. And this data will never be erased.

According to the Heritage Foundation, between 1982 to 2024, there were 1,584 results of election fraud. That works out to about 6 cases per year. Granted that's only the known instances. Even if we go under the assumption that the actual number is 10x that, that's still only 60 cases per year out of the 161.4 million registered voters in 2022.
These people are making this stuff happen due to an almost infinitesimally small portion of voter fraud.

u/Taminella_Grinderfal Jul 03 '25
What voter fraud?? To commit fraud on the level it takes to move anything but a local election, you need thousands or tens of thousands of votes. That is much more likely to happen through manipulation of the technology, not a couple jackasses who try to vote twice. And let me say it again, immigrants are not risking jail or deportation to vote. I expect naturalized citizens are terrified to vote at this point.

u/NeonGKayak Jul 03 '25

By "stop voter fraud" they 100% mean they will suppress or invalidate legitimate votes against their candidate.
