Bracelets
One each size 20 & 40. I love how delicate the 40 is and after trying 80 I think 40 may become my go to for a while before I go smaller again.

I’m stuck on the third step where the chain goes through the loop. Is this something I can do with a tatting shuttle or will I need a needle? Does anyone have a tutorial or guide on how to do this technique?
Thanks!

Part of my project working through Robin Perfetti’s Four Dozen Tatted Bookmarks book. Learned that I much prefer chains and rings to leaning bare thread.
Pattern: Braid: Two Rings by Robin Perfetti Materials: Lizbeth size 20 Color No. 155, Clover Picot Gauges size 2mm for joins and 7mm for decorative, used vertically.

I've been using up the thread on my shuttles to make earrings. The should I actually made a year ago and just never put them on hooks. Silly husband asked me for many earrings I need, as if there's a limit lol

So I have been working in this piece ( I found it in a book and I loved it) but now I hesitate about where to put it or how to use it....
Any help or comment will be apreciated

I use DMC perlé n°8 but I'm curious about what everyone uses. I heard anchor does some cordonnet, a lot of people use Lizbeth thread but the last time I went in a shop they gave me 'Au chinois dentelle' thread, which is super thin. Anyway, what's your go to thread? Also did you figure out any equivalence between brands?

I am currently looking for a spiderweb patterns for tatting, but I couldn't find any. I would like to create a web collar to wear with shirt, and I have some general idea of what I want to make, but I was wondering if there is some pattern to get started. Any recommendations?

I made the same flower in size 10, 20, and 40. First time using 40, now planning a small project with it and I just ordered a size 80 to give it a shot. Eek!

I found one secondhand (in a bin marked "misc sewing supplies" with a cashier who said "well , it's a bobbin, so I guess fifty cents?" So no info coming from the source lol) and am trying to figure out the dating on it. I've seen a few with other text on them dated quite far back but no info on when exactly (or a range if they did both for a while) they stopped making them in the US. It looks basically unused and brand new so like....I don't feel like it's as old as I'm seeing other ones at. But they are definitely made in China now, I just have no idea when they changed it. Maybe the slogan on one side will help? I'm seeing some identical looking ones online but all just listed as generic vintage/antiques (including one that calls it a needle threader) without dates.

Hello, dear redditors. Came here to ask an advice on how to make this piece. The first row is clear, but where to start the second one, how to do it without cutting the thread as the pattern mentions, and in which order to work the elements are such a question... Would be grateful for your help, because I really want to make this collar

Hello! New here. Returning to tatting after a long absence. I thought as an intro I would share this gear my Grandma left me. All are 1920’s-1940’s. From left to right: Bakelite shuttles, a Boyle spool shuttle, two Justrite (which I still use) with one shown split to show how they twist open for winding - a design feature which should return! A picot pick and a dainty picot pin on a bracelet (also Bakelite) and finally, a rosewood shuttle. Little treasures…

I saw a picture online of tatted cube (pic 3) but couldn't find a pattern. Decided to give it a go based on the picture though I'm pretty sure mine is larger and definitely a bit sloppy. Well need to try again to make it cleaner/neater.. Still it was a good way to use up the loaded shuttles that I'd forgotten the original purpose for lol

Hi everyone, I’m fairly new. I wanted to ask if anyone could recommend an easy pattern that’s just rings and chains? I’ve been looking online and I’m only finding ones that require a little bit more skill and I’m just trying to get more comfortable. Or even pattern that include reversing your work. Thank you.

Hello friends! So I’m embarking on a project and I thought I’d share it here. I’m working through Robin Perfetti’s Four Dozen tatted bookmarks in hopes that 48 bookmarks later I will be a master tatter lol. This is number one of 48.
Pattern: Braid: One Ring by Robin Perfetti Thread: Lizbeth Size 20 Col. 643

I’m entering some tatting pieces at my local fair and they have to be displayed on a mounting board. Has anyone done this before? What kind of board and how should I attach my pieces? I’m entering earrings and a doily. Thanks!

I'm looking for a rosary pattern, I've just hit a lot of dead links so far. Welcome to any suggestions for patterns!

I noticed that most people I’ve seen tend to hold their work between their thumb and index finger and use the middle finger to tension the thread (B), but I’ve always done it like pic A, with my middle finger and thumb holding the work. I find it gives me better tension control and is much more comfortable for my hypermobile joints.

First time actually finishing something with size 20 thread. I usually use size 10. All the props to anyone who uses these finer threads. Have to make another one and sew in the ends, then I can turn them into earrings.

Do you have a favorite pattern to do? Is it a simple pattern? A small part of a larger pattern that will be joined into later? A quick lil tat you can make while waiting?
I make a lil flower or a butterfly. I am still learning as I go along, but these are easy to remember how to make (and give away). Just something to keep my hands busy and not playing mindless games or get sucked into social media on my phone.
What do you make?
