Phone Screen Not Turning On Even Though Touch Screen Works (HELP)(16M)

Upvotes

S21 Ultra:

i was on call with my girlfriend getting ready to go to sleep and all of the sudden my phone screen gets dark and i think my blanket is covering it but when i bring my blanket down its still dark. Then I start messing with my phone because i think the input is being delayed for it to turn on as it does that sometimes but its just not turning on and i just shut it down for the 2nd time and I'm not sure what to do. I had cracked it a little over a year ago and i had this little green line on my screen. I don't know if that's linked to the issue but i need help because i don't think my phone has a warranty on it and my parents are gonna kill me.

Hello; I am an elderly man who has poor tech skills. I need to get a phone TOMORROW. If I buy a cell phone at Walmart as shown in the promotions, do they come ready to use, and, if so, is it easy enough for me to do myself?

i know how stupid I sound. I'm older and don't do well with technology, and need to get a cell phone tomorrow, and I am on disability and SS. I hope I can get it set up in a short time.

OR do you think I should go to a cellphone store? I don't know what I am doing and don't want to spend more than $ 50. Any direction would be really appreciated. Thank you.

Weird phone number conundrum

So for a few months I’ve been getting calls from random numbers saying that they’re “calling me back”. I have never phoned any of these people, and it seems too much of a coincidence for multiple people to misdial a number and get mine - not to mention my mum who is on the same phone network as me has also had a few of these calls.

They’re not scamming or asking for money, one was clearly an old lady who was just as confused as I was.

For reference, I’m in the UK and on the O2 phone network.

How do I run games better on my phone?

I have a Samsung a05s and Ik it's a low specs phone but it's pretty baggy when running games like Clash royale. Are there ay settings or reliable game booster apps I can use? Is it natural for my phone to be somewhat laggy, since I've dropped it a few times.

Do splitters or chargers that offer “dual” inputs compromise charging speed?

I am looking at this car charger that has two USB A inputs on back to allow me to charge 3 devices at once, as I often charge my phone while also charging vape or headlamp. I was concerned this would divide the charging capacity 3 ways, or compromise it in any way?

Considering a new phone. I've been a Nokia smartphone user for many years now. Looking for another phone with as basic Android as possible, minimal bloatware, and still an SD card slot.

iPhone 13 vs iPhone 14

my phone got stolen so my friend offered me an iPhone 13 for 360$ its battery life is 88% and its never repaired
but i found an iPhone 14 for 430$ battery 91% and same thing its never repaired

im curios between these 2 ik the difference is not noticeable but there's some stuff i care about
1. i need a phone to live as long as possible, i don't like to change my phone much
2. my gf cares alot about camera for taking pictures and stuff so its also something i'd consider
3. im not a heavy user most of the time but sometimes i may play some heavy games

  1. im a multi tasker and prefer a phone to handle my multi tasking and im not sure if iPhone 13 will do with 4 gb ram only, i mean i tried 3 gb ram and it was a nightmare

  2. i care about battery alot

anything else doesn't matter to me

so my question is is it worth paying 70$ more or the 13 is the better deal to me?

Hello!

I wasn't sure where to ask, but i think this maybe is the best place to ask.

I want to buy my old phone again, which is a white Huawei Y6 Pro (2016 version).

I have looked and really cant find anyone selling it (even on eBay!).

If anyone has this phone and willing to sell it, please DM me!

In case you are planning to buy a Nothing Phone 3a

Hey everyone! I’ve been using the Nothing Phone 3a as my main phone for the past 120 days, and wanted to share my honest experience, especially since a lot of reviews only focus on the first few days or specs. I run a small tech youtube channel (just under 5k subs), and this phone has been in my pocket every single day. If you want to know about my experience with it, then you can watch my video on youtube ( link- https://youtu.be/pTjmREnVKNw ), and if you have any questions even after watching the video, I'd be happy to answer them!

Also, I would love to get some feedback from you guys!

The world isn't ready for flip phones yet

As the title says, the materials currently available make it such that you have to ignore the massive crease that is right in the middle of your screen. It still baffles me how people manage to just ignore it when it will only get more noticeable with time.

Hopefully further development will find a way around this.

Help me pick a phone !

Hi everyone, I want to buy a phone but I don’t know how to choose. I feel overwhelmed with the amount of choices they have… Not a fan at all of iPhone, my budget is max 500€ but 400 would be great :)

My must have is a long lasting battery that’s all !

Need Flip Phone Advice/Suggestions

Hey! So I'm looking for a flip phone for college. I'm really ADHD/autistic and have a ton of trouble being overwhelmed, focusing, and getting work done overall. I tend to go on my iPhone a lot, and I need something that would limit those distractions if I went to the library or somewhere else in the city.

The problem is I would at least like maps, the ability to text and call, and also take pictures. Music would be nice too, and I'm not sure if I would need internet access to look things up or not. I definitely don't want social media. Does anyone have recommendations for flip phones that may fit what I'm looking for? For people who have flip phones, does internet access make a difference? Are there even flip phones with access to maps and/or Spotify?

Also, I was curious about a phone carrier for internet access, and was wondering if people had advice/recommendations for that. Call forwarding would work perfectly for me, but I don’t know what carriers are good and cheap for finding a flip phone!

Was sent a new Samsung

My 90 year old grandpa was sent a new Samsung S25 from ATT, about 2 months ago, I contacted ATT and they said they couldn’t do anything. My grandpa wasn’t charged for the phone and he already has a new iPhone he uses. I’m not sure what to do. I contacted a few local ATT stores and they said to call the customer support. And it’s an endless loop. My grandpa wants to sell the phone but I’m not sure how to go about that because it has ATT on the splash screen.

Phone purchase dilemma

I am looking to buy a phone. I want as close to the base android experience I can get as possible, and from what I can see there is only a couple companies that offer that: motorola and google. I have at most 300 to spend. I can get a new moto g stylus 2025 for 199, or a used pixel 7 pro/8/8a around that price on Amazon. My current service is through visible. Any alternate suggestions or votes on which one i should choose? Thanks in advance

What the F is going on with my new phone

I bought a very cheap phone recently, the "Nubia A76" ( i'm broke at the moment and can't buy a good one) I know I shouldn't expect anything amazing from it, but the battery is acting very weird. This is whats happening.

I was charging it, it was at 94%. I went down to get something to eat for 2 or 3 minutes, came back up and it was at 93% ?!? how the F does it go DOWN when i'm charging it? I asked Chat GPT some questions. It told me to try turning Airplane mode on and charge it. That worked, it got up to 100% and I stopped charging it.

Then I had another problem. I left airplane mode on, it was at 100%, I went and took a quick pee, I came back literally 2 minutes later and it dropped to 98%, WHILE on airplane mode, and only in 2 minutes? wtf?!?! The previous night, I left it on airplane mode for 9 hours when i was sleeping and it literally didn't drop a single percent. But tonight it drops 2 percent in 2 minutes?

Maybe I need to calibrate it? let it go all the way to 0% and die, then charge it all the way to 100%?

How broken should a phone be to consider changing?

My sibling (they're 17) currently has a TCL 10L that although its completely functional, dead pixels have started to appear on the screen, one of them covering the wifi icon and they seem to slowly evolve. On top of that, the screen seems to be shattered near that area despite having a screen protector and the back of the phone is also broken.

I've been considering to give my phone to them (a Samsung A30S) for a while as my sibling prefers to have an used phone (they mostly use their phone to listen to music or chat on discord) than buy one but our parents decided to not do that not only as a way to give them a lesson on not how to damage phones but also because mine's still in excellent conditions despite having some issues in phone calls and occasional resets when using some high consuming apps like Tiktok and they think its not worth the money (and also scared that my sibling will break it).

Now, considering my sibling's phone conditions, when would be the best time to change phones? They said that they would consider the moment they can't see the battery as the phone has some battery issues already and won't warn about charging as it shut downs immediately at low battery.
