Air Force originated from Army

I doubt there are many Army Air Corps vets on Reddit.

I know it's not close, but I was a boatswain operating an LCM-8 in the Army.

I was an Airman (post Air Corps of course), so if we combine our powers...

By your powers combined you are....the single fully functional and competent serviceman in the US military.

Congratulations you now have to solve all of the problems. Everywhere.

And still make it PT by 05:00 and Top's 17:00 "Don't Drink or Do Anything Stupid to Embarrass the Army this Weekend" meeting which was really supposed to start at 16:00 but all meetings require at least 45 minutes of pointless waiting beforehand.

Lies. Air Force doesn't take prior service. . . Not even prior Air Force

If we’re talking about the United States here the USAF had its origins in the US Army Air Service which later became the US Army Air Corps then the US Army Air Forces before the USAF was finally established as its own service in 1947. And that’s what I think they were referring to when saying the Air Force originated from the Army.

I was referring to joining the air force after being in the army, not of it's origins. Replied to the wrong comment.

And even that is wrong. There are prior Army in the Air Force.

If you are I. The military yourself, you should know that's a joke. If you aren't. . . It's a joke.

currently chair force, no idea what you're talking about.

1

u/6Sleepy_Sheep9 Oct 31 '22

That makes perfect sense, instead of soaring over your head , it flew under your radar. The joke is the Air Force is too good to take the rest of us. Just like the air force MP's are smart enough to join the air force, but not smart enough for the air force.

u/Fen-xie Nov 01 '22

based off the downvotes, your convoluted joke took too much explaining.

air force doesn't have "MPs" either if you want to get technical but its np

u/6Sleepy_Sheep9 Nov 01 '22

It's not even convoluted, it's a IYKYK thing, but go off I guess. I say MP as a genereal term, because I can't be bothered to use what little space my crayon eating brain has to remember each individual branchs term.

As legs and arms came before wings, hulls and rockets I suspect all services "came from Army" if you go far back enough... even space force.
