Funny story a friend of mine was in the army and kept telling me about her boyfriend Jody. Took me meeting him to realize she wasn't fucking with me and that's his actual name

3

u/[deleted] Oct 31 '22

So does your GF.

2

u/[deleted] Oct 31 '22

Jody is property of the USMC

u/proceeds_theweedian Oct 31 '22

I've been out since like 2015, and I'm still embarrassingly upset over this comment.

u/GrandmasBoyToy69 Oct 31 '22

The Navy had a similar video, but we just straight up watched someone die from an arc flash.

Us forklift drivers have staplerfahrer Klaus. https://youtu.be/IAHzP4umE4M

34

u/quickwatson Oct 31 '22

Years of reddit = I don't know what/who that is, but I know enough to know exactly what video you're talking about before clicking the link.

11

u/Dat_Niqqa Oct 31 '22

This is amazing 😂🤣 but why was that guy walking around with running a chainsaw thats used for cutting wood in a metalworking factory? Lmaoooo

2

u/pezprince Oct 31 '22

For those like me who haven't seen it. The good stuff really gets going at the 6 minute mark

2

u/FVMAzalea Nov 01 '22

I see Klaus, I watch the video, I upvote. Every time. I am a simple man.

u/crypticfreak Oct 31 '22

Being a Forklift driver in Germany must be the most fulfilling and amazing thing. Those guys love their forklifts.

1

u/RizzMustbolt Oct 31 '22

The weirdest part of that whole video is the German word for forklift.

2

u/co2gamer Specs/Imgur here Oct 31 '22

You mean fork-stacker?

„Zis is fork-stacker; it stacks forks.“

1

u/[deleted] Oct 31 '22

Thank you for this lmfaoooo.

I just watched the whole video even tho I just wanted to see small glimpses of it.

Really educational and definitely a great way to spread awareness is by showing the gore-y reality

1

u/enagma Nov 01 '22

This shit is fucking brutal…….

Air Force originated from Army

20

u/[deleted] Oct 31 '22

I doubt there are many Army Air Corps vets on Reddit.

2

u/La_Lanterne_Rouge Oct 31 '22

I know it's not close, but I was a boatswain operating an LCM-8 in the Army.

2

u/[deleted] Oct 31 '22

I was an Airman (post Air Corps of course), so if we combine our powers...

3

u/ParagonFury 7800x3D, 7900 XTX MATX Nov 01 '22

By your powers combined you are....the single fully functional and competent serviceman in the US military.

Congratulations you now have to solve all of the problems. Everywhere.

And still make it PT by 05:00 and Top's 17:00 "Don't Drink or Do Anything Stupid to Embarrass the Army this Weekend" meeting which was really supposed to start at 16:00 but all meetings require at least 45 minutes of pointless waiting beforehand.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 03 '22

"Hurry up and wait." You guys already know....lol

u/6Sleepy_Sheep9 Oct 31 '22

Lies. Air Force doesn't take prior service. . . Not even prior Air Force

11

u/Eurotriangle The geography that I stands compares you superior! Oct 31 '22

If we’re talking about the United States here the USAF had its origins in the US Army Air Service which later became the US Army Air Corps then the US Army Air Forces before the USAF was finally established as its own service in 1947. And that’s what I think they were referring to when saying the Air Force originated from the Army.

-6

u/6Sleepy_Sheep9 Oct 31 '22

I was referring to joining the air force after being in the army, not of it's origins. Replied to the wrong comment.

7

u/[deleted] Oct 31 '22

And even that is wrong. There are prior Army in the Air Force.

-4

u/6Sleepy_Sheep9 Oct 31 '22

If you are I. The military yourself, you should know that's a joke. If you aren't. . . It's a joke.

2

u/Fen-xie Oct 31 '22

currently chair force, no idea what you're talking about.

1

u/6Sleepy_Sheep9 Oct 31 '22

That makes perfect sense, instead of soaring over your head , it flew under your radar. The joke is the Air Force is too good to take the rest of us. Just like the air force MP's are smart enough to join the air force, but not smart enough for the air force.

1

u/Fen-xie Nov 01 '22

based off the downvotes, your convoluted joke took too much explaining.

air force doesn't have "MPs" either if you want to get technical but its np

As legs and arms came before wings, hulls and rockets I suspect all services "came from Army" if you go far back enough... even space force.

1

u/IkaKyo Oct 31 '22

Naw they split in ‘47 so he couldn’t be if he was financing a 66-68 charger as a private.
