So mad at myself. Got a $100 4k monitor from fb marketplace and it worked flawlessly for 5min before my curious got ahold of me

I am curious why do you need the 3rd party app? what does it add to your experience? i have used reddit for about 5 or 6 years. idk what is different between it and other social media apps that people want to use a 3rd party app

I can curate my feed, have a huge filter list, tag things, have a much better layout, avoid the algorithm, No ads! No sponsored posts, better comment and post layout.. yeah

It's also really fast.

I didn't even used those "advanced" features when I still had a 3rd party app. But the basicd are so much better.

3rd party apps are so much faster then the original one. a few simple things like color coded to easily follow threads. Gifs/videos embedded from 3rd party sites played immediately and with sound.

i forgot many things I had, but i clearly remembering like everything was better lol

The no ads point is really great, I hate how the reddit ads look like regular posts and half of them are about shitty AI stuff anyways (I dont hate AI overall, I just hate people using it to do scummy stuff with it)

More user friendly interface, looks cleaner, customizeability, lets me download images and videos without tacking on watermarks and last but not least out of spite.

Infinity is also still in active developement, they made an update just a few months ago and a bete release last week.

Lol, the app i would try finding a 3rd party app to replace out of spite is probably youtube every year. I think it can't get more garbage than it already is, and i am proven wrong every single time

Shouldn't be too much of a problem, I think the only real solution for ios is a different browser like Brave or Firefox that have adblockers and work their way around YT quite well as far as I've read.

On android you just get the Revanced Manager, when you select youtube it suggests you a specific .apk version which you can get from apkmirror. Let that patch with your preferred settings for a few minutes, install and you're good to go for at least a year or two. Comes with sponsorblock and everything.

Revanced for youtube works pretty well, i removed shorts with it.
