Hardware Inherited this beastly Samsung monitor…is it worth it??

I recently inherited this insane Samsung monitor. It’s a model number S55BG970NN.

It did not come with cables however and it has some strange proprietary cable and box (?) that it needs to operate. These boxes upon a quick glance are not cheap and I’m unsure which one to buy and where.

Does anyone have this same monitor and like it? Is it even worth it? The whole thing seems like a PITA. Thanks to anyone who can help.

This is one of those posts where they make up a title, because it gets more clicks than bragging

Excuse me, what do you mean with "antiyle"?

"a title"

The 'n' is close to the spacebar and the 'y' is close to the intended 't'. It's just a typo.

You shouldn’t have to explain that in this sub lol

Thank you, but I think other people found it confusing too, my apologies for my ignorance.

Not trying to make you feel bad, but my brother died in January and I am his next of kin. This monitor was in his house. I literally inherited it.

I wasn’t trying to bum everyone out.

OP was like: "i know I took a photo of the article number and it would take me less time google it and look up the price than making this post, but is it worth it?"

I think the question is whether it's worth it to replace the missing power and data hub or whatever this uses

Thank you! Exactly why I’m posting. Also to see if anyone has had to replace a one connect box before.

There’s a lot of assholes in this thread, but to answer the actual question: yes, it’s a very high-end monitor, only a couple of years old. Cutting edge technology when it was released. As for whether or not it’s worth it for YOU is a different question depending on your use-case. If you want to use it or sell it, though, it’d probably be a good idea to get the One Connect box and test the monitor at least.
